In my opinion, DUST514 as a dynamic game needs to allow players easy and FAST selection of fittings when respawning.
I am aware of the intended behaviour that our default fit will be auto-selected when respawning, but that's not enough.
The following is my suggestion how to improve the current situation:
In the fittings menu, when pressing X on our fit, there will be another option named "Add to quick-select." What this will do is open a clock-like circle with 12 empty slots. We then move the analogue stick in the desired direction to highlight the slot and press X to confirm our choice.
Now whenever we die, the interface will display "Press X to select spawn point." as usual. After selecting spawn point, we will be given a choice "Press X to select your default fitting, press square to select last-used fitting, use your analogue stick for quick-select, or press DPad down to open list."
As a result, spawning with default stuff will be done by simply tapping X twice. (or triangle, then X)
If we want to view our whole list of all fittings, we press the down arrow and bam, we see the list as it is presently.
If we have any quick-select fittings set, then we move our analogue stick, press X and are done.
I want this to be in because DUST514 needs dynamic role selection. One moment we're happily pew pewing our assault rifle, the next moment we get blown to bits by two enemy tanks. So we go back to respawning, quick-select our AntiVehicle fitting and go tank-hunting. Having the default AR fit respawn when we just died to a vehicle attack is uncalled for, for obvious reasons.
TL;DR
Let us use the analogue stick to select fittings faster. |
