In the options menu, having a tab for voice where you could test your mic(like having a 3s echo or something) would be great in the setting up of your mic, this way you dont have to ramble random stuff trying to figure out if your mic is working, while you're shooting people in the face. |

Also have a receive volume test so you can adjust bluetooth volume before you start combat and realize everyone is whispering. So you can hear others without on the spot battle adjustments. |

Yeah, what we need is an options tab where can set and test the various settings associated with the mic.
Having a fully functional mic in Dust 514 will be vital to coordinate effectively with your teammates. |

So, I just checked, and sure enough you can in fact access it without quitting the game. So, yeah, already there.
You do know tapping the little center playstation logo on the controller brings up the main menu while you're in a game right? You can still get to the settings menu on it. |

There's an echo test built into Settings -> Accessory Settings -> Audio Device Settings on the XMB. You can access it in-game by tapping the PS button to bring up the XMB. Do it all the time when I need to switch mics because the battery is dying. |

My problem with mics is that since they're noise activated, mine is almost always going off when playing the game, making it slightly less annoying than those who blast music over the channel. Current workaround is to play a radio while setting the levels, but I'm wondering if PTT would be a better way to go here. I don't need my team hearing every single thing I utter. |

I don't disagree, but I have a question?
How are you going to PTT (Push-To-Talk) when you are using both hands on a PS3 controller?
In many other games, we use mice / keyboard shortcuts to activate PTT voice, but I don't think that's feasible on a console.
Just a thought.

We still have the left D-Pad arrow unassigned, if that was what was going to be for orbital strikes, then move orbital strikes to the radial menu (L2)
Im all in favour of a push to talk, id turn my mic on more and use it; currently i dont like people hearing me have my 3-secs of rage when I get spanked =] or my laughter when i spank back. |
