1. Raise teh roof
It would be nice if dropships could fly higher than they can at the moment. It seems that as I'm flying around, even holding L1, I lose altitude as I move more quickly, and I can't go too high in the first place. Not as high as those towers mind you, but just some more wiggle room.
2. Limit turret range of movement
Currently, dropships can aim straight down to hit targets. When you're in a tank this is especially annoying, as you have no opportunity to fight back. With a little bit of a range of movement limitation, the dropship pilot would have to maneuver to avoid tank fire while shooting back. Having often been on both the giving and receiving end of this, it just doesn't seem well balanced.
3. Airburst turret
Currently, combat between dropships seems to carry on for a long time as each one's gunners try to nail the other with missiles. An airburst turret would fire a rocket on the first pull of the trigger, then detonate it on the second. Functionally, it would essentially be flak, and it could be limited only to dropships to prevent them from being to vulnerable to ground fire.
I think these would make dropship combat a little more interesting and perhaps balanced. With more flight area, it would be easier to maneuver and dodge ground fire, and the turret limitation would avoid giving the ship an unfair advantage. Finally, the airburst would make aerial combat faster paced, and provide a good anti-fighter weapon when those are finally pushed to the servers.

1. THere is no hard limit. You can land on the towers and on the MCC currently, but achieving altitude is not easy and takes time.
2. No, they used to be limited and it was dumb. If the tank is fighting alone, he deserves to get shwacked.
3. Fit a blaster instead or get a better gunner.
The only thing I would like to see improved on the Dropship is for them to be able to gain altitude easier. |

I don't see why airburst turrets should be limited to dropships only.
I think they should be available on ground vehicles too, but there should be some kind of limitation on attempts at using them against other ground targets, like having a limited firing arc that doesn't let you fire level with the ground (but DOES let you fire straight up to counter high-altitude dropships or cliff/tower camping). |

1. If there isn't a limit, then the ships just need to be more agile, I agree. It seems to take forever to get any decent altitude.
2. There have been times where I've been either the tank or the gunner, and despite ground troops there wasn't much going on in terms of anti-air support. I think it would be nice for the tank to be more of a threat in that situation, but I never did experience it with the limitation on. *shrugs*
3. While that might work for dropships, I'm not so sure it'll fly once you have fast movers. Also, I don't think blasters have much in terms of effective range (following in EVE's paradigm), so an airburst would allow for engagements from a greater range. |

Seems like that would work out pretty well; make tanks more effective against aircraft without limiting the dropship's turret movement range. Airburst vs. ground targets was one of my concerns, so limiting that instead is a good way to handle it. Also, the tank would trade ground effectiveness for AA effectiveness, so the tank wouldn't become too OP. |

I could see it if the turret on top of the tank were able to shoot directly up. But not the main gun or the gunner on the front bumper. |

Yeah, having one turret replaced by a swarm missle pack or some other kind of AA would work really well. |

Right, the main gun shouldn't be able to shoot straight up. It would just be the airburst launcher. I think I would prefer that to a swarm launcher turret as it's unguided, so no lock on time. Also, not a huge fan of swarm shot dispersion, easily hits walls and then does you no good. Airburst would fly straight, and you could detonate it whenever you want. |
