I'm fortunate enough to live in a country without a Playstation Store. But non the less I have an UK account on which I bought the Mercenary Pack to get access to the beta.
When I created this char (only to use it on the forums, because my main char I can't use for reasons I described in another thread) I was asked what of the items from the mercenary pack I want to use. I selected none.
Then I went ahead and created a character on my main account which I'll use to play, but there all the goodies were not available. What I want is those goodies to be unlocked and be available on all my accounts (still with the limit of 1 character) so I can actually use them.
Pretty please show some love for those that Sony hates.
PS: that up/down of the textarea as the draft saved message pop ups is still annoying. |

What?
You do realize that for all intents and purposes, a different account is a different legal entity right? I don't buy cable tv once and get to use it at my house and my friend's house both. I don't get netflix and be able to send one disc here and another to the opposite coast. Why would you think this should magically work differently than anything else on the planet? |

What? You do realize I want to use it on the same PS3, just not on the account I bought it on. You can't send a disk "here AND on the opposite coast", but you can send "here OR the opposite coast". I don't want netflix to send me a disk "here AND here ONLY". Now you got it? |

Seeker of Cheese wrote:You do realize that for all intents and purposes, a different account is a different legal entity right?
The UK PSN account you bought the Merc Pack on is legally regarded as separate from the account you want to play on.
You're basically asking for multiple copies of the Merc pack when you only bought one.
My girlfriend and I share a single PS3. I bought the Merc pack, she hasn't been given a beta access code. She can't play the DUST 514 beta, and she doesn't get access to my Merc Pack equipment. |

Agree.
Your country likely doesn't have a PSN store because it is not technically legal to conduct sales electronically from your country, so "importing" might be illegal.
If you think you should be able to transfer electronic media from one account to another, you should email SONY support and see what they say. |

Sony support is outsourced so they can't speak English.
This is a Dust issue. Like in MAG when I wasn't able to use the armor on my account, but only on the account I unlocked it on with a code. That was rectified.
And no, accounts are not legal entities. I'm a legal entity. That's why all games bought from stores I can play them on any account on my PS3 and not only on the account I bought them on. And I can use DLC on any account too.
A sony issue is the fact that I can't login on this forum with my main account because my country doesn't have a store.
The reason why my country doesn't have a store is Sony's laziness. In how many countries did they open PSN Stores lately? None. How many countries did they open stores after PS3 was released?
There are a lot of EU countries (European Union) that don't have a store. I don't think legalities are a problem in this countries.

Laziness to do what? Apply for the government issued liscencing to be able to conduct E-commerce?
That would make it ILLEGAL to conduct E-Commerc.
I fail to see how it could be laziness without being a legal issue. |

Tell you what. If all 5 accounts are on the same PS3 I don't have to call Sony because they are already available on all 5 accounts. So maybe you are the one to be laughed at, without muting first.
And I already did it, not with 5, but with 3 stores and 4 accounts. One US, one UK, one Ireland and one for my country (with no store). I bought content from all those stores and I can use them on whatever account I want, but usually I use the content just on my main account, of course the one without a store.
And that's exactly what i want, Mercenary pack to be available on whatever account I want on my PS3. Of course once the items are used I can't use them on another account since they can be used only for one character.
Now can I get a reply from someone that actually knows what he talks about? If you don't live in a country without a store or never used content on more accounts on the same PS3 just shut up, because all you do is to add noise to this thread. |

No, you didn't got it right. The second quote was about the mercenary pack content. Any other content from stores I can use on any account how many times I want and on all accounts, it's not limited in any way. But for you I need to type slowly so you can get it. I said that because they said the content is available only for one character and I'm ready to accept that as long as I choose on which account I enable it.
Let's try a different approach, maybe this time you will understand. What you tell me is that it's absolutely normal to buy a game on disk and be able to use it only on one account on your PS3. If your wife/gf/brother/sister/father/mother/son wants to play on her/his account well you have to buy the second disk. Same thing about DLC for a game. It's normal to buy it for every account on your PS3.
And lets put it into another perspective. Dust will be a free to play game. How it will be sustained financially? Microtransactions. Well people in countries without stores will do no microtransactions because they won't be able to use what they bought. So this is an issue for the future of this game which we all test. Does that make you happy?
Also testing doesn't mean shut down other feedback just because you consider it pointless or wrong. Feedback is like brainstorming. The only bad idea is no idea at all. And the best you can do to deter people from sharing ideas is to tell them they got a bad idea.
Unless you are from CCP please refrain from trying to shut people down.
Do I need to type even slower?
Now you are excused. |

When I bought MAG the special edition disk I couldn't use the armor on my main account. Later Zipper (not Sony) fixed this, because was an issue in their code, not a Sony issue. So this is the right forum.
And like I said, people from countries without a store will not be able to make microtransactions and this will hurt CCP's sales, not Sony's, so again this is the right forum.
And the message to select the items from the pack appears in game, so yet again this is the right forum.

Well, my girlfriend has tried playing DUST this weekend, and was told she doesn't have access to the beta at present.
Either way, the extra gear/Aurum doesn't carry over, and shouldn't.
Want more examples where your purchased gear isn't available to all accounts on your PS3? DC Universe Online. ANY cash purchase in that game is valid ONLY for the account it was purchased with. Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. My girlfriend used the online pass that game with the game, and I don't have access to that content. Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The UPlay Passport (Ubisoft's online pass equivalent) doesn't carry over between accounts.
Most non-demo downloads are available to "up to 5 accounts on a single PS3" and on "up to 2 PS3 systems" (this used to be 5 but was cut back to 2 around this time last year to reduce account sharing). |

Probably her account is not active on your PS3. Because I got mercenary pack on the UK account, I created this char on that account (because Sony doesn't even allow people to sign in to forums if their region doesn't have a PSN Store), but I also created a character on my main account which I use to actually play Dust.
Like I said I don't really want to use AUR or content from the pack on characters on all my accounts. I just want the message that popped up on the UK account to pop up on all accounts. The account on which I choose to enable those items on will then be the only one to which the items will be available.
Otherwise there is absolutely no chance that I will purchase anything in Dust for the simple reason that I won't be able to use them.

So I say that they (Zipper) acknowledged their mistake and fixed it, but you totally ignore that? Than you tell me that I can't make a request in the "Feedback/Request" section because this is not feedback? And if moderators think it's a bug then they can move it. It's not a bug, because I don't know if it works as design or not, so I made a request. Live with it.
Maybe I'm the only one because I was one of the few that bought the Mercenary Pack from a country without a store and bothered to make a character able to post here, because I can't even access this forum from my main account (this is a Sony issue and I'd appreciate if CCP would drop the Store login system on the forum and adopt a new one once the beta will be over).
And it's feedback, because I tell CCP that people from countries without a store aren't able to make micro transactions and won't be able after the game is released if they don't change something or if they don't provide an alternative way for those transactions.

Im gonna try to explain to you why what you are suggesting isn't allowed.
In the future, ISK and AUR will be tradeable
If I opened 5 accounts as opposed to 1 and bought 500 AUR on my PSN account, you are saying that I could demand they put it on all 5 accounts
I could then trade all that AUR to one account so basically, I bought 2500 AUR for the price of 500 AUR |

You don't understand my request then.
Let me explain you how this worked. After I downloaded the beta, I created this character. Than a pop up appeared telling me what is in that pack and if I want to use it on this character. I selected nothing and choose "Cancel".
I want that pop up to appear on any account. But once I select something, let say a weapon, that weapon will not be present in the list for other accounts. So if I buy 500 AUR, once I select on which character I want to use them on, no matter the PS3 account, I can't add those 500 AUR on another account/character.
This allows me to use what I bought on any account, but only one account, and allows for people in countries without a store to buy AUR or any other content CCP may sell while also making sure you can't use that content on more than one character.

I didn't have access to the beta and I bought the merc pack only for the access, I don't even know exactly what the rest of the pack is. For me it was worth it and I know it's a beta, not a demo, not early access. I'm a programmer, I understand perfectly what beta means. I hope CCP will answer and fix this till the game is released, because it will help both us, people without a store, as it will help CCP by increasing their market.

This may be a silly question, but why can't you just play on the account that /does/ have access to the psn store? It doesn't make much sense that you would use an account for a region that does not. The account locks are the easiest and simplest way to prevent abuse and shenanigans with their product. It sounds like you've been able to work around your issue anyways, but then you are completely ignoring your own solution in an attempt to make things harder for youself.

Because it's not right.
Because I don't live in that country and I want when they gather stats to see that I play from my country. I want my country to get a store. I always used this account for gaming. The other accounts were originally just for demos and later to buy store content.
It's just my statement. I live in a country that is part of the European Union, but Sony treats me like a second class customer. In the last year they even stopped our access to their forums. I want CCP and other developers to know they have customers in my country too.
Why didn't black people just accept that they couldn't sit in the front of the bus, or that they were not allowed to buy from certain shops? Because it wasn't right. |

No. I'm saying that some people fight for what they believe in and don't take the easy way out.
And a right is a right, if it's a human right or just some access to a store. If you don't fight for the minor one is highly unlikely you will fight for those that really matter. |
