To make the game harder I would remove the Target Arrows over the enemies heads. Only show us were our team mates are. Showing us where the enemies are all the time is very fake. And makes the game very easy to play. Removing the targets on the enemies will up the skill and fun level of the game. |

Correct me if I'm wrong. But the arrows are NOT always up. They are only up provided someone on your team has that target in their line-of-site. If the entire team loses site of that target, then the arrow dissappears.
If this is not the case, then I think it should be.
In a Sci-Fi setting it makes sense that your team has the ability to "share" enemy locations on TacNet. |

I agree with this .. But when I played it felt like they never dropped. I would like to see maybe voice chat in place over target arrows. |

A big part of the game is sensors and ECM.
Without arrows, they have no purpose.
So I disagree.

An attacker who snuck all the way to the back will not register but the enemies on the front line where most attention is being held will register. |

Arrows should always show teammates but maybe an option on some planets where enemy targeting systems wont work (blame it on unstable atmospheric conditions for added realism). |

Or put it in the hands of the players and make it an EWAR problem. |

I've understood that CCP is really gonna make it sensor vs EWAR competition.
Even now the sensor strength vs signature radius might do something as now always enemies have the red arrow on them even though I see them personally. |

THIS!
Its a Tactical Data Net that is taking sensor data from all of your teammates and replicating those targets onto your HUD.

Yet we still have bullets, thats confusing me, wheres the laser light show?
As Simon Phoenix said in Demolition Man; "Wait a minute, this is the future. Where are all the phaser guns? "
Little off topic, but why dont we see laser blasts all over the battlefield?
But yes, l fully agree on the Tactical Data. |

Nope not fake at all... I hide easily, ambush people all the time, see people moving without red icons until i move over them, then they light up for 5 seconds because its a tactical futuristic HUD, and I still am perfectly capable of assisting and sneaking and killing people in surprise...
Frankly, once cloaking modules hit this game, active scanners are put in, and this on site light up occurs IT ADDS to skill and tactic level. If your not sneaky, you shouldn't be flanking period, your enemies buddies should be able to light up a little icon above your head just like saying "Watch out to your 12!" when your sneaking behind someone, and if no one sees you? Then great no light up and you SMG him at point blank with him no more aware of it on his mini-map or icons on screen.
It functions as intended and is fine. Don't change a thing. People complaining about being highlighted, get more skill at traversing the map undetected... It is possible with a little talent and though. |

Lasers will be added, love the Ammarr particularly killing them =P. As it stands now the visibility of blasters and Rail Guns is just right and what you would expect from the projectile if it was magnetically propelled =).
The least visible ammunition, is actually going to be minmatar which will be like real bullets, not visible at all, not like the stuff we have now with these slight orange energy trails everywhere, and THAT is actually bullets, not that Hybrid weapons aren't bullets, but its a bit different...
Anyways that's my two cents =).

It's also a game and complexity is significantly increased if you don't have a big freaking icon hovering over a hostile's head.... |

I'm curious as to where these "big freaking icons" are coming from as I roll around shotgun in a Soma, double checking my heads up display map to make sure my gun isn't pointing at a team mate before I start blowing people away.
See also "shotgun hide & seek" -- where a scout quietly sneaks up behind you, avoiding your line of sight, then takes you out before the "big freaking icon" lets you know he's there.
Everyone doesn't have "big freaking icons" over their head...and those who do don't tell you what they're packing. Depending on where the "big freaking icon" is one person can intimidate an entire team into avoiding an objective by broadcasting their location or draw out defenders into an ambush or a sniper's line of sight. |

ive noticed since they reduced the range that those target arrows apear, that alot of the time far away enemies dont know who i am, and sometimes friendlies shoot at me because we all look the same, how bout a blue outline around friendlies when they are in line of sight and nothing for enemies, and of course the outline would only reach so far..... but honestly i think enemies should have a red out line that apears at certain ranges, and instead of stealth in the game, have a skill that lowers the range tht it apears, all suits should have some kinda short range scanner

the "bullets" are actually hybrid charges half matter half energy for the assault rifles and shotguns the "bullets" from the SMGs are actually filled with small nukes or plasma. they are not ordinary metal slugs anymore.

Your ammunition for hybrid weapons is a pellet fed into a cyclotron which is accelerated to extreme speeds and then fired. The result is a lump of plasma coming towards you near the speed of light. Minmatar however still favor the old tech, if you can call auto-homing minuscule nuclear warheads as "old technology". |

CCP are trying to make a tactical game where a scout without a mic can contribute by keeping eyes on the enemy, providing that data automatically to your heads up display.
You guys who want it gone think its like cheating or wall hacks and makes it too easy to find people. Im sorry but that just breaks down team cohesion and tactical play. You want to be able to stay hidden while you solo hero wolf your way around getting easy kills. You don't like it that as soon as you shoot at someone, everyone else on their team sees what your position is. Sorry, other games that cater to your play style are >> that way.
So train the skills that decrease your signature and you will be highlighted less often. Or learn to use the HUD to help you find where single targets are off doing exactly what you are doing now, playing solo, grab a buddy, and go **** him to teach him a lesson about team play.
Then log onto the forums and drink his tears when he makes a thread about how the HUD makes the game too easy for you.
TACNET isn't going anywhere, shouldn't go anywhere, and is a legitimate reason why this game is BETTER than other FPS games out there. |
