While sprinting, pushing the aim button should cancel the sprint action and initiate the aim action; as of now it does not, the character will just continue sprinting. This hinders split second reaction crucial in a FPS |

Yea, there needs to be a rework of the input priorities. Any action should cancel a sprint. |

I also agree.
This strikes me as a "we've never done this before" mistake, so hopefully it'll be fixed by release. |

Greetings,
Lord MaudDib wrote:While sprinting, pushing the aim button should cancel the sprint action and initiate the aim action; as of now it does not, the character will just continue sprinting. I disagree, but not for the reason you might think.
In many games where aim interrupts sprint, it does so with instant response. If they are going to add an interrupt, I would really hope they add a delay or a slow down. As it is, I have seen far too many people sprinting and instantly turn around and bullseye the person directly behind them.

i have to disagree too, because of the pace of the gamespeed, Dust 514 shouldnt be a bang!HEADSHOT! Game, it should be more about movement and tactics.
So stop sprinting befor aiming, should be a crucial part of an slowpaced tactical shooter. |

It's hard because I initially agreed with this but after reading some of the above responses I also have to agree with them. This game is supposed to be a bit more tactical and I really don't want it to turn into a 1 hit kill/headshot fest.

Found it a bit funny the first few times I tried it,but got used to it quick enough.
The problem with it is,it's a standard mechanic in FPS's.Because it's FTP,you'll get people who would never of entertained getting the game, and something as unoffensive as not canceling runs with ADS/Reload would probably turn people off.
The mindset would be "I didn't pay for it,it's no skin of my nose i'll just delete it"
So something minor could become a real problem when making first impressions. |

I agree with Jake but I think this should be an option (ie. Aiming Cancels Sprint - Y/N) for each class which allows further customization (I would not necessarily care about this feature on my heavy load out but my scout class would have a huge benefit from it. Especially when flanking to capture a defended post.) |
