No they have changed the deal now they are giving a load more of ingame items for the same price.
http://www.dust514.com/mercpack/
4,000 Aurum ($20 value) 30-day Active Skill Booster In-game items
Exclusive GÇ£DragonflyGÇ¥ Scout dropsuit (Permanent)Exclusive GÇ£ToxinGÇ¥ ICD-9 Submachine Gun (Permanent)HK4M Shotgun 50Hacked Drop Uplink 50Fused Locus Grenade 50 1.5dn Myofibril Stimulant x 50 All AccessGÇ¥ Beta Pass
So i already purchased, just about 2-3 weeks ago the 19.99 for 4000 Aurum points while ingame. Now you adding this new feature pack at the same price and all the people that previously paid 19.99 will feel like they were ripped off in a way.
the signal i am getting is dont even buy any aurum related stuff
ccp is always going to make something new and better just to get people to buy it and make more money.
being a loyal beta tester that has already spent 19.99 we should all get the same merc pack these new players are getting. |

You misunderstood. You bought $20 in AUR back before the pack came out, with no promises that some other deal would come up. I understand the mindset this pack brought up, basically suggesting no one should buy AUR alone, and wait for packs that come with other perks, but.. you agreed to the terms at the time when you bought it.
Even then, isn't the pack just the cost of the AUR anyway? |

I understand how you feel, but please consider that playstation store /Dust -integrated AUR shop IS a shop.
If I bought a brand new virtual book from amazon I pay, say, 15 bucks. Three years later it's on discount for 5. I buy a burger at McDonalds and I eat it. Later they have a sales campaign offering same kind of burger now with bacon (mmm...)

basically i dont think this game should be free to play because they put so much work into it. i feel it was okay to give 19.99 to the developers to also test out their aurum point system and items. now that they are selling more things for the same price i feel like i did not get a good deal at all. this makes me not want to buy anything ever again because they will just keep changing their minds on what they will give for any amount of money.

You got what you paid for - when you purchased it the deal was 19.99 for 4,000 Aurum (which is reusable throughout the beta, since you get it back when characters wipe, and you will get it back on release.)
I don't really think you can cry foul about the new bundle when it isn't what you paid for. |

If you bought just the AUR, you got 25% free. So you got an extra 1000 AUR. Now I know the merc pack is an attractive bundle, but it is not something any of us were promised. You could probably buy the dragonfly suit and toxin SMG off someone with that extra AUR when the game launches. Might even turn a profit if you are a good trader. |

When the beta ends you get all Aurum and also all the stuff from the Merc Pack. I bought both (pure Aurum and the merc pack) and i'm happy with it, cause i start after the full release with 9000 Aurum, Items from the Merc pack and extra items from the beta events. Thats a massive boost and you shouldn't look at every damn penny. |

I see your point. How much AUR did the merc pack come with?
Also they kinda bought their way into the beta and might lose all this stuff when the wipe comes.
What CCP needs to do is sell more permanent weapons. I'm not gonna pay AUR for good weapons to get squished by a drop ship or get flanked by a bunch of people because my team mates decide to play rambo. |

You're basically complaining that you bought something that went on sale later.
In the real world, stores will sometimes refund you the difference in sale price if you purchase an item that later goes on sale. However they are doing this out of the goodness of their heart and you are in no means entitled to get the reduced price. You bought something, and then a later deal came out. Its not "unfair", you just got unlucky, and that's just how businesses work.
So sick and tired of people whining "OMG THATS NOT FAIR GIVE ME MOOOAAAARRR" Just because you "opened your wallet" doesn't mean you're doing them a favor and are thus entitled to special treatment, you purchased and item for the listed price at the time and received something in return.

Most of us that aren't teenagers and actually have our own incomes have this happen to us constantly throughout our lives. I remodeled my kitchen, 3 months later a new model of the fridge I bought came out that I liked better for the same price. Do you think Lowes is just going to do a swap for me and take my now devalued, used product as a fair trade? I filled up the gas tank in my truck last week when gas was $3.70/gal and yesterday it was $3.02/gal. Edit: and, when I went to top off the tank this morning it was back up to $3.37/gal. Do you think the gas station is going to give me a refund in either case?
It's part of life. Happens every single day. You can either throw a tantrum, realize it was something beyond anyone's control, or in the cases of some things learn to do better research before a purchase. I can only imagine someone's finally going to buy a PS3 the day before the PS4 comes out, completely unaware of the people outside setting up tents to wait overnight to buy it, and throw a tantrum on a forum over it. |

Gas fluctuates constantly. That is not a similar premise to the situation. This is a digital product that is not effected by warmongering nations. (At least until the Corporations become involved from EVE )
So if your fridge cost 700. Then one month later they bring out the same fridge, WITH dishwasher, stove, and microwave for a bundle for the same price of 700. You wouldn't feel remorse?
Most stores have return periods of 60-90 days. Imagine if said store said too bad so sad. This is grownup land. Would you be inclined to return to that store? No, because it is bad business thought. If CCP adopts a Buyer Beware stance of business then they will loose peoples money, and this is what truly will keep the game running.
Why did Walmart become a massive retail giant? Not from inflating prices and telling customers too bad so sad. They focused on customer service. Good prices, good return policies, and fair deals.
Moral of the story: Don't be the first to open your wallet.
You are right though price inflation and deflation occurs in real life. The house some people bought for 500,000 won't even sell for 90,000 in the matter of a couple of years. |

Yeah, if the product doesn't work. Try returning something that expensive because you just don't want it anymore and see how it goes.

They drove all the competitors that treated their customers well out of business because every time they took back an item they'd kept for several months but didn't want anymore, they couldn't sell it as new. They threw money down the drain until they couldn't keep their doors open. Walmart on the other hand literally sends returned merchandise back to the manufacturer and makes them eat the costs claiming it was damaged in shipping. They stay in business by screwing people. |

I had a very brief stint working at Walmart one summer, and this is so true. I literally watched them throw out half a million dollars worth of metal shelving because they were too lazy to sort it. The manufacturer had to eat the cost AND they made money selling it as scrap. Just needed to reinforce copying Walmart is an evil idea. |

Just kidding, but lets expand and start with something. This reminds me of Steam. You buy a game for lets say 20$ and three days later the said game is in a bundle for 20$ including all addons, predecessor games etc. You won't get your money back. I have purchased quite some games which then suddenly got a price cut (for example TF 2. You remember? That game was once supposed to be p2p), i thought at first: "Dafuq?" but then i shrugged and moved on. I had the games earlier than those who bought the bundle, and at the time i bought it i got my moneys worth. So in other words: If you QQ about getting all these little skill bosster etc. BEFORE everyone else, then okay, return all your SP earned with those, all kills you made with Aur equipment and then we can talk. But to say now:"I want the Merc pack for nil because i bought myself a little boost before it was cool" is just wrong . . . on so many levels. Oh and CCP doesn't imply anything with this, they just offer more attractive people to get more income of their unreleased game. Who wouldn't do that? You get all your Aur back after the game is released isn't that good enough? |
