Greetings,
Renzo Kuken wrote:it just adds to the realism Ummm, your consciousness is transferred instantly to a new body the instant you die... So why should you lose comms?
Additionally were this to be changed, people would simple cease using the comms provided in game and switch to using external comms (Mumble, Teamspeak, etc)... Actually I know a couple of people who have already switched. If it is too hard to use the tools in the game, people will meta-game which becomes far more difficult to control.

Renzo Kuken wrote:pretty sure you cant talk while your essence is being transfered What part of instant transfer are you not understanding? Additionally, you are not talking verbally, instead you are using implants in your prime clone to communicate, so there is no communication disruption. Finally, your clone doesn't generally die until you press the "suicide" button, so it makes perfect sense that he continues to communicate until he chooses to clone jump back.
Quote:but this is the first game universe thats bringing in a real "war" the closest thing to a war that you are gonna get unless you enlist in your respective countries military Not even close. Many games will get you much closer to realism. Dust is set around 25,000 - 50,000 years into the future in a completely different galaxy. There are alien races and mankind has evolved and diverged in New Eden to the point where they have almost become separate species in their own right.
Finally, as I stated previously though, the real kicker is that this change would cause most people to use different comms system at which point, they will still be able to communicate even when the server is down... In fact there are a number of people who already do this. What you are proposing will just make that worse.

dalik fett wrote:so wait is there really in game voice comms? This is a serious question??? Yes... In fact there are a number of us who are actually holding real and game changing discussions in there occasionally... Often times to ourselves as there are not enough people with mics, but every now and then you will get a full group that have comms and roflstomp the enemy. ;)
