This is a cross post from the bug forum, since I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it needs suggesting.
Quote:Pilots get very little SP reward compared to the gunners. I don't know if this is a bug or if it would be better off in the suggestion forum. I don't think this is right, I think they should get equal amounts. The pilot after all has to dodge all kinds of incoming fire from turrets, swarm launchers, forge guns, and needs to keep himself repaired, AND is also the one who loses the ISK if the ship gets destroyed while the gunners only lose avatar loadout. So please adjust the SP for the pilots.
They also don't get the sexy K:D ratio. It would be nice if there was an "Assists" that went along with the Kills and Deaths. |

For some reason, the new build STILL hasn't fixed the spawn-into-vehicle SP issue. Likely because it wasn't brought up until this build was finalized. They are still more useful than they were pre-patch. Pilots can take a hit, gunners can aim at their targets better, and the ship can haul serious kitten while you're jamming L1 (which you should be, otherwise you'll just hit the dirt). |

Agreed, until it's adjusted there really is no reason to spend skill points in piloting. The most you get is 25 vehicle assist, while the others get 50-100 (if they manage to hack objective). Which by the end screen makes your contribution pretty much 0 |

Yep, exactly. Even when I get loads of assist kills my SP gain seems pretty dismal compared to either being a gunner or just forgetting the DS all together and capping things myself. |

Also, since we are making suggestions to the dropship and DS pilots, has anyone notice how painfully slow vertical attitude (altitude) control is for the dropship?
I was unable to build my skills in piloting in the last build, so unfortunately I can not compare the current performance to the previous build.
I tend to think of the DS as my Huey Air Cav of old or the Blackhawks of current years, so I have a mind set that I should have greater responsiveness to the thrust for altitude control. Since the forward and backward attitude control is so much like a helicopter I am surprised that the vehicles' maneuverability in the vertical plane is SO SLOW.
Am I the only one that has noticed this? The front to back and side to side responds very well and I enjoy it a lot. But the lack of responsiveness to altitude control has gotten me killed more than once when attempting to EVAC a site which, along with the SEVERE decrease in SP gains, has turned me away from using the DS.
*** And while we are still on this subject of DS and DS pilots, could it be possible to set up the activation of active modules much like the the switching of weapons?
Tap it once and the currently slotted armor rep or shield boost is activated and if you have more than one active module holding R2 would allow you to access the module wheel and then you could choose the appropriate module to activate. |

i definitely agree to this, it needs another look from the devs. another issue i have is that stupid spring back camera when youre piloting and looking around. i find it usually gets in the way when im trying to look down or check my sides for enemies because its far too sensitive, and it just springs back if i let go. SUPER annoying. |

The problem here is the PS3's old shoulder button sensitivity rearing its ugly head again. Because of the shape it's far too easy to press the button without meaning to. You move your knee, or lean it the wrong way, and it it gets pressed, wasting your module in this case. (It's brought many a Demon's/Dark Souls player to grief accidentally attacking NPCs, I can tell you. ) This is why I desperately want them to move this function to a face button, as well as quick weapon switch. You have to press too hard and it's just not responsive enough fast enough in a firefight. |
