So I was putzing around with LuxRender and decided it would be kinda fun to try and make some dropsuit SKINs in high resolution just for fun. So I dug up a really generic spacesuit model I had laying around (I know it doesn't really look like a DUST/NOVA Dropsuit, but I still like it) and decided to start generating some textures/materials and render them.
I figure it would be fun to do all of the major factions/variations of SKINs that are/were available in EVE and DUST, and perhaps come up with some originals.
So I know everyone has their own opinion about how things should work, and I'm far from professional, so if you disagree with how I made something look please don't be too brutal with your feedback...this is just for fun after all.

That armor... has no defense on the torso....
Except for the crotch-belt.
Now... I'm no expert on armor, but I'm pretty sure, that the belt won't distribute the damage as far as the creator was hoping.
Basically.... think..... "Can crusher".

The point of the thread is not the suit's physical design...nobody cares about that. The point is the graphical design.
I really like that Quafe suit's chrome purple...I dunno why but I just think it's the prettyest color ever, I want my car to be that color.
If you could make one of the APEX suit designs, that would be great.

I like Phoenix and Quafe.
I think Phoenix would look better with either Dark Urban Camo for suit or alternating Dark Grey/Black between armor and undies.
Quafe is great. No improvements I can think of as is great distribution of colors affiliated with Quafe.
As for other two, they seem a bit bland for me.

The PHOENIX skin looks awesome but could use a little more color. Adding red and grey colors to the suit would make it more appealing and would match the main colors of DUST. It might go well with the highlights too.

I have never known a point in the history of these forums where there wasn't at least a few people fixating on something stupid.
The suits are pretty snazzy though.
