Who thinks Nova will succeed in carrying on in what Dust was? Do you think that Nova will carry on the legacy and fill in our hearts what Dust meant to us? Nova has some big shoes to fill. Kinda like Kevin Hart trying to fit into Shaqs shoes. Dust was for a lot of us, our first FPS, or maybe your first MMO. Do you think Nova will feel like Dust and will give you the feeling you got when you played Dust? |

Dust was my first FPS and MMO. Nova will never be the same, but if it feels even 50% like Dust, I think I'll be happy.

I think it will be close enough to keep you interested, and from there on in it will be up to you being a persistent advocate for what you like and want to see back or added to our shared universe.
Don't worry about the launch, it is but the first steps in an infinity long road, and as long as we are going in the right initial direction, it's easy enough to make course corrections. As mentioned elsewhere in the forums, CCP has a great track record of adjusting the game (Eve Online, Valkyrie, and Dust 514) to the players desires.
Where the game evolves depends on you and the rest of our community adopting a long-view of the unique, expansive, and persistent universe that this FPS will offer in New Eden.
Buckle in for the long haul and steel yourself and those around you for grinding it out in the forums the same way we grind it out on the battlefield.
I for one, can't wait to open my clones eyes for the first time in our (new) New Eden Universe with all the uncharted gaming options ahead of us.

I can't guarantee its success, but I can at least say it has a chance to succeed as long as we as a community work with CCP Rattati well enough to help try to ensure it.

As long as they don't use the term "laser focused" we should be good. I think if they used that phrase, they would trigger pretty much everyone.

honestly i just hope customization is great and replayability is high. multiple planets would be fantastic and outdoor fighting is great but from what i understand that will not be the case. i believe the maps will be smaller and player count lower. pretty ironic since it's gonna be on PC, the platform that has huge 64 player battles and giant maps in games like battlefield and red orchestra / rising storm. it'd be nice if they went all in with the game and sold it at $20-$40 and then considered updating it or even releasing DLC, though the mere mention of such a thing would destroy their rep (understandably).
new weapons would be ideal aswell but i don't think we'll be seeing any, which is fine, i guess. obviously gunplay will be refined, otherwise they'd be wasting their time.
i don't know why they don't want to open up an open or closed beta, because a beta is one the the best types of playtesting. it gives devs an idea of what the game would be like when released to a **** ton of people. maybe they're planning on that, i dunno.
tld;dr- good replayability and customization, good polish, good scale. new weapons (maybe) |
