Very strange if you ask me. I assume it is due to a redesign. That should be easy to assume though as they said the Nova demo was commented as "Not EVE enough". From what I heard, the gun game is solid but everything else is likely going to change. And as CCP Logicloop stayed in Shanghai, I would guess the maps are going to change as well. Time will tell. From my guess, it will be lots and lots of time before we know for sure. I believe you assumed it right, they probably scrapped the "on-ship CQC fighting" bit and are still working on maps, so they didn't have a playable demo of that ready for this year's FF, that, or they really wanna get it done as quickly as possible so they didn't bother with showing their progress to the public.

Some games and movies fail because too much is given away prior to the realese so people are left with a feeling that they've airway played/watched the product because of how much they already know about it. Well it shouldn't be too hard to keep what you had to show in the beta/alpha stage in the game, no?

Well it shouldn't be too hard to keep what you had to show in the beta/alpha stage in the game, no? There's no point in showing it again. If they do the people will start their conspiracy theories: "An entire year and they have the same exact demo. It's probably in development Hell! RIP Nova" I didn't mean showing it again at another fanfest, I meant keeping what was shown in a demo, in the final product, so people wouldn't get disappointed if a feature got scrapped.
They should show a new part of the game each time, a different type of map or gamemode alongside the already known features.
