In that case the next GTA must not exist because they don't talk about it.
This is how the industry works. If they talked about it, and CCP ditched it, they you would be crying, "But they promised! " Or, like No Man's Sky, they talk about things that don't end up being exactly what speculation thought it would be, and suddenly everyone is claiming they lied.
If they don't say anything, because they want to have something more concrete, then you say, "If I don't hear about it it must not exist," because of course that is how life works and anything you aren't aware of can't possibly exist...
Yes, it would be nice if we got some info, but taking the lack of info as suggestion it doesn't exist just comes off as childish. There are many good reasons for them to stay quiet other than the game not existing.
Lastly, if you pay attention to job hires at CCP, they are hiring for the game.
TL; DR. I am tired of the whining.

You qualified your statement with, "as far as I know."
That is not the same thing as saying, because I don't know about it, it MUST not exist.
It is the difference between saying you that you can't confirm something vs saying that you can confirm something isn't.

The difference being that we know how new Projects are handled at CCP, as they told us. And it is just worrying how Valkyrie became a full fledged product in a matter of months, but for Nova we get nothing at all... which probably means it is still not green lit by the higher ups and still just a Project which might or might not come out. And Legion wasn't officially cancelled either. They presented it. Never talked about it and suddenly they stopped and announced Nova. They never directly told us that Legion was cancelled. Just that Nova is something different. All you know about Valkyrie is how many months there was between Project Announcement to Product Announcement.
You don't know how much work went into it beforehand.
Not to mention, that everything I have read suggests Valkyrie is light on content, meaning it is a bit smaller in scope, though feel free to correct me if I am wrong.
Nova will necessitate greater care than a space shooter. It is easy to create space shooter maps, because space. Creating good FPS maps can be difficult, and takes time. Not to mention trying to get as much of the nuance and complexity of Dust into Nova without all the brokenness.
Frankly, I was impressed they had a demo out less than a year after development, and that people thought it was by and large good (at least in terms of the mechanics, which was the point of the demo).
If we don't hear any updates at FF or before, I will be more concerned. At this point, not so much.

And how long was Red Dead Redemption 2 in development before they announced? Development cycles are quite long, around 5 years give or take, especially for Take 2 game, and they don't announce development as soon as they start...
Take Fallout 4 for instance. The development for that game started immediately after Fallout 3, albeit with a staff of only one or two people at first. Just because they didn't announce the game until a few months prior to launch doesn't mean it didn't exist.
Nova has been in development for about a year now, and given that it was announced just a few months after development had started compared with other gaming announcements, that seems rather open compared to the announcement timelines of other companies.
It just seems to me there are a lot of whiny entitled gamers out there. If games like NMS and Star Citizen announce early, when things don't go exactly as gamers speculate (and they never do) then gamers b*tch and moan about lies and vaporware. If nothing is said at all, they b*tch about the same thing.
For Pete's sake stop being little b*tches.

No one is saying it is a sure thing. We are simply saying that it exists.
Its just really annoying when people, in spite of all evidence, start saying the game is "dead" or doesn't exist just because they don't hear what they want, where they want it, and when they want it.
