**** tinfoil bullshit. I'm a betting man. 500 mil ISK Eve side if I'm wrong . Nova , if its still Nova by then it will make it to a console . but the best part may be , its going to be cross platform if they start using the new ( Vulcan API ) . if Valkyrie made it to PS4 , I wouldn't doubt NOVA will as well in the future . but I rather stick to a p.c since its easily upgradeable . NO, it will NOT be. You cannot create a cross-platform FPS. It is not possible. There is no possible way to balance controllers against Mice, and any means of separation of both player communities is completely counter to the principle of New Eden.
EVE Valkyrie can do that because it's a game where a mouse gives no advantage, and a controller is honestly the best control method.
I'm getting one for EVE: Valkyrie and Ace Combat 7 because I grew up with Ace Combat.

But for all we know, Nova will be exactly like Valk in that it's in its own little instance of EVE. It's clear that persistence and inter-connectivity are not a priority for CCP, and may not even be much of an interest at all. Separating the communities with a tight yet basic F2PFPS might not break any barriers or put CCPs name in the spotlight, but it would very likely generate a steady stream of income. Sales will triumph over dreams. EVE: Valkyrie is going to be cross-platform primarily for the reason of keeping a united New Eden. There are likely people who would prefer they be separate, but since neither side will have a control method advantage it makes the most sense to keep the player pool combined so there are more people playing together.
CCP Rattati did, after all, confirm that he considers an economic link between the two games to be very important. If there's any community separation, how could wars over that link ever be fought? Just get a PC instead of a Console and now you are free from any of the other Console gamers that were impeding your ability to bank up all the money you want.

Rattati can consider whatever he wants to be as important as he likes, but if Hilmar says no then it just doesn't ever happen. I think Hilmar is too afraid to let this game touch EVE in any meaningful way, and I still strongly doubt there will be any meaningful connection between the games. I'm also a cynical salt elemental, so who knows. Also been PC Master Race since a little before Starcraft 2 came out :) I still play both but I'm convinced that the right place for an FPS in New Eden is now on PC. They tried console, but they clearly don't have the expertise.

While I agree there doesn't seem to be a way to create an even playing field between KBM and controller, I wholly disagree that it is counter to seperate New Eden. It is already sperated into High, Low, and Null secs, and will soon divide its players between subscribers and F2P (if not geographically, then certainly with limited content). From what I hear, New Eden is big enough to have invisible partitions between PC Nova and console Nova. Why create arbitrary limitations? Why be against console players wanting a piece of Nova/New Eden for their own? That just doesn't come across well. So why bother at all? Just keep the game PC only and give console players EVE: Valkyrie. Flying games are better for controllers anyway.

You say no , but the technology is out there already and tested . :::khronos vulkan::: ( this why Sony and Xbox ) talking about cross platforming consoles . read up on it ( got released Feb 2016 ) if the Vulkan driver's are adapted to consoles ( which supports virtually almost every Gaming Engine there is already ) . and to your Controller vs Mouse rant! ( they're now online features that limit Mouse DPI if you are playing certain cross platform games ) . that's a developers choice if they choose to have cross platform restrictions or limits to make it a even playing field . some will complain and whine etc , but I was doing just fine smoking certain scrubs that used keyboard & mouse in DUST514 . so I won't use the ""but they have a keyboard & mouse"" Crutch! Excuse . if you're good , you're good . simple as uno , dos , chicken lol =ƒÆÇ=ƒâÅ=ƒÄ« The way a mouse worked in Dust 514 is not at all how a mouse works on a PC. Dust 514 did not support raw mouse input, which is translating movement of the mouse directly into movement of your character. What Dust 514 basically did was drastically slow down mouse input so that only someone with an adjustable DPI mouse could get a reasonable turn rate in-game, and even then the aim was nowhere near as precise as in a PC game.
Every FPS on PC uses raw mouse input by default because it allows the highest degree of control and precision. If CCP were to attempt to restrict mouse input to allow game controllers to be competitive with mice, you can write off any potential PC players right at the start. It's really that simple.
