I never bought into the hype of NMS. I was never a fan of survivor type games nor Minecraft and that is kind of what NMS looked like to me. Having a game be "totally massive big!" doesn't change the fact that there might not be much to do in it. I mean, Elite: Dangerous is the same thing. That was hyped to be the next coming of Christ but it turned out to just be a game that is most easily compared to Euro Truck Simulator and not in a pejorative fashion; drive around, relax, and let the hours go by as you travel the roads/stars. It came out, the hype went away, it got it's 8/10's, and everyone moved on. Hell, comparing NMS to Elite: Dangerous, both games had people that rushed to the center of the Universe to see what was there and both times the expectation of it couldn't live up to reality.
I honestly think that NMS will be the same and possibly even Star Citizen.

I honestly think that NMS will be the same and possibly even Star Citizen. Nobody in their right mind would go for Elite Dangerous because of the size. That's like saying the only reason to play Eve is because of how many planets there are. But I had seen it used as a selling point of the game before it came out. And that sentence is out of place because I originally had a weird rant about Everquest and WoW that felt overly out of place, even for me. In short: Everquest is a hell of a lot bigger but there is less to do mechanically than WoW. Imagine that but over like a paragraph.
