I first learned about CCP (EVE Online) while I was in Afghanistan in 2005/6, and played Eve so I could spend some time gaming with my children (now grown) back home.
I was in Iraq when CCP announced that they would be developing Dust 514 and couldn't wait to see the game. I got home, purchased a PS3 just so I could get in on the closed beta, quit playing Eve, and proceeded to put a bit of money into Dust via the store.
I don't regret a penny I spent, and I am thrilled to have been a part of video game history, and proud to have played with so many fine people in the Dust community.
I miss the gameplay terribly, I miss the community even more, and we can't wait to see what you do with Project Nova.
I and my corpmates in DAR are huge fans, extremely grateful for all of the work you put into a free to play game that suited many of us quite well... we can still see the future of the game and anxiously look forward to it.
Your hard work has not gone unappreciated.

1. I salute you and thank you for your service in the military.
2. Despite the major frakkups that CCP has committed during the 5 years with Dust 514, World of Darkness, and Eve Online: Incarna, I still commend them for trying something new. Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all.
3. I spent well over $200 in Dust and just like you I felt this was money well-spent. I'm sure there are those who feel otherwise and that is their right to feel that way but I am confident that CCP has now learned from this experience with Dust. We can tell that CCP is learning from this because CCP Rattati is still in charge of Project Nova and CCP LogicLoop has now come back to CCP as Senior Level Designer who is well known for making many of the popular Dust maps we enjoyed.
