I'd love it if we could get a Scope News report but could we please at least get an EVE News post? Don't make us just quietly fade into the dark after all this time. You're not fading into the dark. While for the time being, there's no PLAYER cloned mercs deployed in New Eden, all the DUST NPC corporations will continue to operate in an in world sense, in terms of backstory. Question is whether you're ready to become part of a new breed of immortals when Project Nova becomes available? WHEN project nova becomes available? Is this project nova confirmed? Should it not be if? hmmmmmm lol Surely you've learnt you can't trust mere words! ;) |

Question is whether you're ready to become part of a new breed of immortals when Project Nova becomes available? Join EVE, Valkyrie, Gunjack and Nova under a single "New Eden" subscription, where character can either be used in multiple games, or the account can have up to three characters for each game (to save your money, maybe limit an account to 6 characters total). Pretty sure that's not where they're going with this. Ah but it would make so much sense. Just think how much easier it would be for CCP to allow this!
I can't see the need for 6 characters per account. That just seems superfluous to me and would need too much fundamental modification of the database. But allowing each character to function in any of the games with appropriate flags on the character seems completely reasonable to me. I'd personally love to see Nalianna flying a fighter in Valkyrie or Alena Asakura piloting a Strategic Cruiser. All of that could be done, with no loss to CCP. All they need to do is decide to allow it. |

By the way, I like your signature. I sort of remember you could do that, but I've only ever use the email version.

It seems to me that most like one or the other. You and I and a few others of us are different, obviously, but I think the mindsets are generally too polarised - one toward FPS, the other toward MMORPG and/or space combat. |

I tried EVE for the 21-day trial. At the time I was very confused, and the gameplay was a bit boring, but it's certainly something considering moving to now that DUST is dust. But I definitely have a taste for FPS's now, which will require sustaining. I have to admit that yes, at the beginning, EvE is quite boring. You don't get to see action straight away for a start, and you really do have to do the tutorials to learn enough to function and that can seem like a slog.
When you get to do your first missions (which come from the tutorials, I might add) you start to get a taste of what battle is like in EvE and it can be every bit as nailbiting and exciting as Dust, just maybe in a different way.
For me, the real transition was doing my first Epic Arc - a series of missions all linked via the Sisters of EvE, that takes you through a massive story in the lore of EvE. By the time you get there, you're starting to really get the feel for it.... |
