You can via the start menu. Also, backing out of it seems iffy on canceling your queue, but pressing start to back out didn't cancel when I tried that, not sure if that's hit or miss too though. You have to be kinda quick though, or at least you had to with the last build, seemed like if your respawn timer got too low, it'd cancel if you were still in menus sometimes. Not sure if that still applies. |

The obnoxious idiots on voice chat just require an individual mute option that we don't have quite yet (I think, haven't looked in this build). I think the benefit of voice chat being on by default outweighs the negatives of a few morons. I mean, I barely noticed it was there, and only saw it because I go through every options tab in every game I play. I had to tell every one of my friends it existed when they commented the game was so quiet in regards to people talking. |

Also, regarding this point. I'm not being rude in asking, just don't recognize your name, but did you just start playing since yesterday?
I ask because I always defend how these spawns are currently working, even though others agree with your proposal, I feel the current implementation is the right way. In the skirmish mode (? we had only ambush yesterday right? I always get those 2 confused by name) there are Clone Reserve Units that act as spawn points, which can be hacked to make them your team's spawn point if they aren't already. Spawning at one is a 10 second spawn, hacking one takes 5 seconds. With how spawning is right now, if you're currently spawning, or about to select your spawn point, and you see a red dot approaching your CRU somewhere else, too bad, it's theirs. I personally feel this is the way it should be, and you shouldn't be allowed to insta-spawn over to somewhere you weren't paying attention to before to deny the enemy team's advance when they've cleared out the area or made it to somewhere that wasn't being defended.
It'd be nice if spawning were quicker in the TDM mode, but I don't think that should apply to the objective modes. |

And there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to instant spawn somewhere else if you already waited out the necessary respawn time.
While it sucks to have your spawn canceled and have to re-queue because your spawn point was hacked or destroyed, I would argue that it's less fun to try to hack something for your team to have Joe McSpawnScreen instantly warp in and shoot you in the back as you go to hack, because he saw your red dot pop up as he was about to spawn across the map from you, but happened to be scanning all around the map to kill off those 10 seconds. |

How about people can't spawn at points being hacked?
I don't know, I still don't like the idea of people being able to wait out a time and then insta-spawn anywhere. That's just my opinion on the matter. I would prefer we had to commit to a spawn point rather than pick one on a whim at a time it suits us best.
The number of times I've been screwed out of spawning is minimal, aside from the game itself just going ehhhh cancel, which I have a feeling those will be ironed out and fixed eventually, but the hacking/destroying something I'm spawning in isn't something that happens frequently enough that I feel allowing the proposed insta-spawning kind of mechanic is the right way to go.
For me, I'd rather put up with the rare occurrence of having to restart the spawn process over again instead of having to constantly be wary around any spawn points because there's nothing there now, but hey, someone could come in at any second as I get closer to it. It's just not something I like in other games that allow that kind of mechanic. It's too easily abused, and I know I'd use it to my advantage, just hang out on the spawn screen a few more seconds if you see the enemy's pushing in anywhere undefended and then just appear.
I feel I should have to plan in advance of that guy sneaking past our front line, instead of being able to have a 0-2 second spawn available to drop in his path just because I happened to see him as I was bored and jerking the camera all over the place on the spawn screen. |
