The PS4 will only restrict what can be implemented.
Look at the ARMA series for example- if you're using a controller, even the glorious steam controller, you won't be able to use half of the game's controls. It's just too complex.
Not to mention they would need another team dedicated to the PS4, and have to deal with all the roadblocks associated with developing on a console.

Also the reason Warframe on the PS4 gets all the updates a month or more late is because every update has to go through verification with Sony, which is the same process that slowed down every single patch deployment with Dust 514.
Warframe is a client-side hosted primarily PvE game, though. For Project Nova to work, both games would have to be updated to the same version, which would mean that now PC players would be forced to sit through those long waits just to support an inferior platform.

The reason is the same reason why they are shutting down dust on the PS3. Consoles have life cycles. EVE online is and will continue to be a "long term" game. The game has existed for like 12 or 13 years now. Its older then the PS3. If CCP wants to make a meaningful shooter that actually has long term traction, they cant put this game on the PS4.
Think about it, CCP announced Dust 514 in 2009. They released a couple years later. Then three years after they released it, the game is getting shut down because PS3 support is ending soon on the sony side. The same exact thing would happen on the PS4.
CCP would release Project nova on the PS4 a couple years from now, CCP would be immediately shackled by hardware limitations because believe it or not, the PS4 isn't "that" powerful, and in the end, Project nova would end up getting shut down just like Dust when support for the PS4 ends in favor of the PS5.

This is one of the major drawbacks with Dust - there are players that have been allowed to use KBM against DS3 players, and have a significant accuracy and flexibility advantage as a result. This should never have been allowed, but as usual, CCP panders to the idea that people can do what they like.
Likewise, having a PS4 version that allows the PC KBM people to wipe the floor with the DS4 users is a very bad idea. |

Plus "We are far ahead of schedule" means that while in this primattive stage of the game's development. All of the information and feedback that they can get will help them decide what is best.
Lets not forget that sony is doing great with the PS4 and with all of its criticism for "Lack of content"
This title, that looks like Killzone but with the essense of Dust..... It would create ALOT of buzz as a FTP game.
I gotta say, these Devs are persistent as heck.

A slightly overclocked PS4 won't change a thing. The PS4 as a closed system which is not upgradeable is nop place for a game which is focusing on longevity. It would just delay the inevitable, not get rid off it.

I would generally agree that the Mouse is a superior aim device compared to the DualShock, however in the Dust implementation, the DualShock absolutely dominates the Mouse.
Bottom line is that you get to choose your input device. USB ports exist and you can plug whatever you want into them.
This is no different than the early days of Doom in the 90s, where people who used the keyboard only complained about mouse users.
The solution was to stop whining and pick up a mouse, or get stomped.

They both share hybrid technology.
Galente can use blasters or railguns
Caldari can use railguns or blasters
Galente also focus on drones where caldari focus on missiles.
It's the same weapon family.
In the same way the amarr have a scrambler rifle and laser rifle.
It's a laser weapon.
your not a true galente if you don't use rails along with blasters.

Yeah.... you don't even know the horror of Rail Comets in Amarr FW... they're just the best faction frigates and honestly depending on how you fit em you can have the kite of the Caldari, the drones of the gallente, and a similar tank to an Amarr frigate....

Ideally I'd want DUST 514 2 on PS4 but anything it is called on PS4 would be the only reason I continue to play.

Yes, the Caldari were originally part of the Gallente Federation, but their guns share ONLY the hybrid ammo. The actual method of delivery is completely different. Yes, Gallente can use rails, but blasters are superior to rails in CQC which is where Gallente excel with their armour repping. Likewise, Caldari can use blasters, but blasters are useless at range where Caldari excel with their shield technologies.
Drones and missiles are NOT the same weapon family. They are two completely different families. Gallente focus on drones because they are good at close range, where Caldari focus on missiles because they are good for kiting and lobbing missiles as far as 100km.
You ARE a true Gallente even if you don't use rails. You are NOT a true Gallente if you DON'T use blasters. Blasters are the weapon of choice of Gallente, for the simple fact that they are excellent for close range combat. Assault Rifles are blasters. Assault Rifles are the weapon of choice of Gallente. Rail Rifles are not. They require separate training because they are so different. In EvE, railgun and blaster specialisation are separate skills, although the basic hybrid skills cover both.
In short, the choice of Assault Rifle or Rail Rifle is based on the type of combat, which for Gallente is CQC, as a rule, hence AR. |

Very true. My Gallente alt in EvE has a Comet. Nice ship. I haven't fitted it with rails because I only use it at close range and rails are no good close in. But one dsy I might put rails on it. Maybe. :) |

Yeah, as someone who plays EVE, Caldari and Gallente use the same weapon tech. Gallente just augment with Drones.
Interesting tidbit of lore there is that the Gallente were actually forced to develop remote operated Drones to curb the losses they were taking from the Caldari developing starfighters. Those little one-man starfighters were really deadly in large groups and the Gallente relied on large, heavily armored ships, so they were challenged in trying to fight them.
You also clearly missed the interviews where CCP Rattati has stated that in Nova you don't start off as a member of any of the 4 factions. You start out as an independent with no affiliations, assumedly as part of Arkombine and thus Upwell Consortium.

CCP Rattati has stated MANY times that the game will have a more meaningful link to EVE then Dust 514 did as soon as the crucial shooting mechanics are nailed down. A link based around economics and resources both games provide that are essential for the other.
Territorial combat and a system similar to Planetary Conquest are also confirmed to be first priorities after the most important parts of the game are finished.

Never said drones and missiles are the same tree. It's where the caldari and gallente differ combat wise.
There are lots of ships from both that can do either. In pvp you occasionally have the sniperthrons with big railguns.
Nothing wrong with a long range rail gun doing more damage. And even on a blaster rock their range bonus makes an incredibly short range weapon with bad falloff more forgiving. The bonuses are complimentary and mitigate each others weaknesses when they criss cross and amplify strengths when they use the typical gun.
You can keep grasping at straws though. :) you literally didn't say a single thing that disproved anything I said.
Fact is caldari or former members of the federation and they share the same tech from their big brothers.
It's funny how you claim they are different weapon families when both are classified as hybrid weapons.
In general
Amarr- Lasers > pulse lasers and beam lasers
Minmatar- Projectiles > auto cannons and artillery
Gallente and Caldari Hybrid weapons > blasters and railguns
they share the hybrid family equally and where they branch away and differ are their usual specialzations in drones and missiles.
Might want to check the store or item database next time your in the client. Dust has them incorrectly classified as seperate weapons and not clarify that each suit should give bonuses to both just as any ship would in eve.
