This is one of the major drawbacks with Dust - there are players that have been allowed to use KBM against DS3 players, and have a significant accuracy and flexibility advantage as a result. This should never have been allowed, but as usual, CCP panders to the idea that people can do what they like.
Likewise, having a PS4 version that allows the PC KBM people to wipe the floor with the DS4 users is a very bad idea. |

I would generally agree that the Mouse is a superior aim device compared to the DualShock, however in the Dust implementation, the DualShock absolutely dominates the Mouse. Bottom line is that you get to choose your input device. USB ports exist and you can plug whatever you want into them. This is no different than the early days of Doom in the 90s, where people who used the keyboard only complained about mouse users. The solution was to stop whining and pick up a mouse, or get stomped.
Yes, I understand all that. But some are not in a position to change to KBM. If Nova is on PC, then the base input is KBM, and you have to make a special effort to get a game controller set up to work on it. I see this as a better situation than allowing people to use KBM on a console. |

Yes, the Caldari were originally part of the Gallente Federation, but their guns share ONLY the hybrid ammo. The actual method of delivery is completely different. Yes, Gallente can use rails, but blasters are superior to rails in CQC which is where Gallente excel with their armour repping. Likewise, Caldari can use blasters, but blasters are useless at range where Caldari excel with their shield technologies.
Drones and missiles are NOT the same weapon family. They are two completely different families. Gallente focus on drones because they are good at close range, where Caldari focus on missiles because they are good for kiting and lobbing missiles as far as 100km.
You ARE a true Gallente even if you don't use rails. You are NOT a true Gallente if you DON'T use blasters. Blasters are the weapon of choice of Gallente, for the simple fact that they are excellent for close range combat. Assault Rifles are blasters. Assault Rifles are the weapon of choice of Gallente. Rail Rifles are not. They require separate training because they are so different. In EvE, railgun and blaster specialisation are separate skills, although the basic hybrid skills cover both.
In short, the choice of Assault Rifle or Rail Rifle is based on the type of combat, which for Gallente is CQC, as a rule, hence AR. |

Yeah.... you don't even know the horror of Rail Comets in Amarr FW... they're just the best faction frigates and honestly depending on how you fit em you can have the kite of the Caldari, the drones of the gallente, and a similar tank to an Amarr frigate....
Very true. My Gallente alt in EvE has a Comet. Nice ship. I haven't fitted it with rails because I only use it at close range and rails are no good close in. But one dsy I might put rails on it. Maybe. :) |
