As an EvE player, I expect persistence and continuance, therefore I expected a port of Dust to another platform. I'm not interested in a transfer to another platform unless the new game has as much of what can be ported into it as possible. I only have 20mill SP, so it's not that I want to start "level" with the best - it's because we need the game to continue being as diverse as it is right now.
Even if we started from scratch right now, in 2 to 3 years time, we would have 3 year vets running proto and noobs running starter fits again. Only then would the game get back to being what it is now. Start from scratch and we lose all that diversity.
EvE players would know what I'm getting at and I'm sure CCP would probably lean more in my direction for the same reason. Dust players don't get it because they think that what Dust is now is all it will be. That's completely wrong. Once properly part of the EvE universe, the game would be free to expand infinitely. |

Only keep names that's fair, you paid your money for items in this game not another.
you don't transfer all your stuff to the new call of duty game when it comes out every year, I don't care if you say its new eden. that means nothing when you want your IP to be successful on another platform, this is A NEW GAME ON A NEW SYSTEM
and having a load of players with 3 years SP compared to all the people who will be playing for the first time on PC, the gap will be uncatchable and you know it.
give us some cool items or new BP's for Dust514 2.0 which are unique to us PS3 players.
this is a start from scratch like CCP said
thanks

But we don't know how crafting will work in DUST (PC). If BPOs are made to work more like they do in Eve* then I would be okay with that.
*: Meaning they actually require raw materials and time to create items. It's not "Fit BPO, Receive Item Forever!".

eh me sitting over here with millions of sp and billions of isk. I could care less when it's gone because i can get it back. What really hurts is the name of the weapon i named not transferring over. That was the whole point why i even participated in the event because i knew dust was going to transfer over to PC according to FF14 under the name legion but that was just another lie.

I hope that we at least get the option to get the tiered loyalty rewards AND get a new name. Because these Xx's aren't really my cup of tea.

I am fine with starting from scratch on everything else, but reputation should carry over, and reputation is tied to your name.

In EVE a BPO simply allows you to make the item, but you still need to gather or buy the raw materials. That is a much better way to integrate them into the economy than simply having BPOs be an unlimited supply of an item as they were in DUST.

Agreed, I'm not starting from scratch. If CCP is gracious enough to transfer a mercs assets and people only want to keep one's name, file a ticket and ask the Powers that be to clean your slate. Leave mine alone. I'm not going to start over, especially without my BPOs. If they transfer everyone's stuff, I will just start a new character to experience starting from scratch in the new game, but then I will go back to Fox Gaden, because that is the name people know me by.
I have done that a few times in DUST already.

If you want an RP explanation: the major Factions signed a treaty to ban immortal solders, and they took all our stuff (the bastards!) and we were banished to some sort of data storage. Then something caused them to start up the program again, so some of the Vets got downloaded into new clones, but no one bothered to give us our stuff back.
I would expect more persistence on the PC FPS, as it is more conducive to long term evolution of a game.

EVE: Phoenix will be the spiritual successor to DUST and hopefully everything DUST was promised to be, so based on the lore and history of EVE we should get to keep our names and our experience. EVE is all about continuity and consequences. If you work hard, you get something for it. CCP encouraged the grind for SP, they sold boosters and ran events. SP is the representation of the hundreds or thousands of hours our clones spent on the battlefield.
The new game may not have the same progression system, but there will be some equivalence and our clones should retain that. |

I don't mind starting over from scratch with no SP, no ISK, and no assets (hell I don't care about my BPOs anymore).
But my name needs to live on. The only reason the OP would want my name to not carry over is so that he can claim it himself in the new game and post under my name.

My point was I wanted it to be continued and persistent like EvE itself. If it's not that, then I don't know if I'm interested in coming to the new game, particularly if it's not fully integrated into EvE. |

OP is in the minority. It seems most players do want some of our legacy to transfer. I think the CPM will confirm that if you ask them. Talk over what makes sense to migrate to the new game and what doesn't. ISK is probably something that you will want to reset. I know so many people who want to keep their names.
Discuss it with us and I'm sure we can find a middle ground.
Honestly he is in the majority, with the exception of the names issue. I could care less either way on the names, but the rest of our trash needs to stay behind. |
