But angels fall first is the first one to try it half competently. Which is amusing considering it's an indie studio, doing it as a sort of hobby. Last time I played it was too choppy, making it vomit inducing, but I saw a lot of potential in it. I'll admit that it has potential. It will be a great game if they don't make the same mistakes CCP made. But I have no doubt the new EVE: fps will be 10x better.
Yet Dust didn't succeed so it only 'tried'.
AFF managed to achieve space combat, boarding, a reasonable vehicle model from my first impressions, and varied and interesting maps.
That said it lacks social options, polish graphics, and a compelling back story.

Like a worse version of PS2 if that is even possible.
The graphics are pretty bad but what is really cool is that they have managed to incorporated infantry boarding combat, with dog fighting, warships, and that both affect one another.
I mean AFF is essentially an Indie game developed by a small team as opposed to Planetside 2 development team.

The mechanics are there but nothing else is.
I'm all for games that include ' actions with meaning' that said it doesn't mean that I cannot enjoy games that feature good mechanics and game play outside of some overarching context.
If you want to do something meaningful go produce your own game, write a book, break into the music industry, become a world renown scientist rather than ***** about an indie game in early development.
