Here's when I leave a match:
- I'm one of 3 people on a full team anywhere near the objective doing anything. If I look at the spawn in map and I see half the team off in the hills sniping and all that, I'm out. If they're not gonna put their suits on the line, neither am I, they can take their crap point counts and loss themselves. - When the framerate & lag is so bad I can't do anything and die every time I spawn somewhere useful before I can even aim a weapon. ( This is generally in direct proportion to the amount of Gen Tso's Alliance members on field, blue or red... ) - When the majority of the team is in vehicles and doing nothing to actually help the map. A few vehicles can be effective. 8 people in vehicles are not effective. 8 people in vehicles will lose, no question about it. My fav is when you get a map where there's no line of sight from the roads to important stuff ( meat grinder for instance ), but you still get those dudes out in tanks and dropships circling the city. And then you see the killboard and you're like, "Yep, you didn't do a gd thing. Congrats on your 100WP."
Other than that, I'll pretty much give whatever a college try, and even if my team is losing and dying, there's generally ways to skirt the edges, sap installations, and pick your 1v1's in a smart way to come out ahead even though your team is getting it's rear end handed to it.
But in general I say don't worry too much if people are bailing. Everyone has their own reasons, or just gets dc'd for that matter. Play your own game and let the dots on the map play theirs. |

I don't mind dying or losing. What I do mind is when just 3 people on my team leave and the enemies see the opportunity to pull out their officer suits or blaster Gv.0s. Suddenly the match landslides in my direction and I'm unable to exit the redline without getting shot by 4+ proto assaults. That's not fun.
People are using the end of the game as an excuse to drop any sportsmanship (or continue what they're already doing). I get that they wanna use up all their officer, I'm doing the same, but the fact that they're in an entire squad doing the same thing and not toning it down when they die is causing matches that aren't fun for either side.
So again: there should not in any way be punishments for leaving battle ever. There needs to be a reason to stay that's good enough to outweigh leaving. It would also help to extend the amount of time in the beginning of a match that people can join, so that entire squads/lots of solo players leaving won't doom the battle from the start. Needs to be 2 or so minutes instead of 30ish seconds like it is now.
So I'm not asking poeple to not try; I'm asking you guys to dial it back gear-wise when the match is heavily in your favor. Try a fun fit. Logi your squadmates. Anything that takes some of the weight off when I'm carrying the team. A lot of players forget that video games are about fun and not stockpiling assets or stat padding. This is especially true since we're on a deadline.
Anyway, those are my thoughts. Didn't mean to monologue, but I don't post much and I wanted to put it all out there. dial it back gear-wise? wtf? Anyone still using APEX suits and MLT deserves to get smashed in. What are you guys saving your proto and officer gear for?
You're assuming people actually have that. I don't even have APEX, let alone Proto. Not all of us have been playing that long. I'm not whining, I go out and lose my ADV suits daily to APEX on up folks and rarely say a word about it ( certainly not hurf blurf forum posts about it ), but if you make statements on the assumption that everyone logged in or on field has the same gear access you do, your statement might be... a bit off... Jussayin...
