In May, it has been four years since I gave up on pretty much every other game (including Eve) and put all time and assets onto Dust, with intent in being in from early on and 100%.
1756,81 Gé¼. A considerable amount (and no, I did not buy keys except a single pack of 10 on Christmas '14 and '15 ) Slightly less shocking if it's divided for four years.
Three-four years of non-stop boosters, a (nearly complet) collection of all BPOs and skins, stockpile of over 100 omega boosters and some spare AUR.
Was I stupid? You can answer that, and I probabaly know 99% of your answers
If I have to find good things about it, it saved me from SO many nights at the club boozing, probably saving me far more hard earned cash (even at a rate of single night out a week 100 each saves 20 000Gé¼ for the period of four years....)
One thing is sure though: from the experience how the game developed and the visions reached, I will surely not be spending that kind of sum on Valkyrie/Legion2/Whatever. Especially the inability to fix bugs is the key: Some very basic issues retained for 3-4 years, which is unforgivable. Pretty much everything else is.
PS: What the heck I'm gonna do with all those Omega's????

Makes me wonder what CCP might bestow upon you.

but if that gave YOU 1700 euro of fun online in stead of 1700 euro of fun in the club/bar with mates then is money well spent.

there is a high chance I got. Eve and Dust give the biggest adrenaline rush of all games I remember - mostly due to limited resources and the concept of permanent loss.

It was your hobby. People spend money on hobbies. End of story. If you have remorse for some or all of the spending you made a mistake with that potion. If not then money well spent. No need to ask us. You know if you feel like you got the value you expected from the game. If you did it does not matter what anyone here says, and if you don't then you have learned a lesson for next time. There will be other games, that's a guarantee.
As for the Boosters, looks like its time to make some new friends. Just save the ones you need to boost to the end and sell the rest to run officer until its over or give them away. That's really the only options other than watch them die with the game. |

This. The mantra of EVE is "never fly what you can't afford to lose, and by lose we mean have 3-4 more of ready to go in dock". The mantra of DUST was "don't deploy what you can't afford to lose 20 of". The mantra of RL cash is, " don't blow the rent money on fun ".
If you could afford that over 4 years ( not unreasonable ), and the family and bills were good and sorted, then don't stress about it. If they weren't then learn to budget better in the future. Shrug. It's your cash and your past time buddy. Don't let anyone make you feel bad just because of the round number. |

Enjoyed it while it lasted but if they're going to follow up if I don't keep my stuff anything like this won't be something I play and dust will be a dim memory. |

Not as obsolete as a console though. A PC worth about 2000 bucks bought 4 years ago? That thing would still rock modern games.

From my perspective you did not waste your money KERO, it made you play the game more which made you give more useful advice on the rookie training grounds, Most people are selfish and they don't think about me at all when they spend their money.
dust514 is NOT a team sport like football, Most players would make their team lose if it got their squad more kills.
