Good Day,
Sometimes the individual has to give up something for the group, micro vs macro.
I didn't like the cloak when they introduced it.
I didn't like the jumper concept when they introduced it.
But they are in the game, so be it. I run them sometimes. If they were gone tomorrow, that would be fine with me.
Those are just two items. There are others. I'm sure there are things I like that others hate.

We need to get new players. But not just new players, existing players need to get better. They need to drop equipment. Get better at grenades, learn how to use RE's, Know how to use small turrets. Drive HAV's and LAV's. etc.
If every match was full of spam equipment that would be one thing. Most matches I'm in are equipment deserts.
A few people are expert at cooking grenades, or dropping / detonating RE's. Scanning is not that hard to "master," but folks don't run scanners, partly because it's hard to get WP's. Using rep tools is not that hard, but getting good at it takes time and effort and using them in the match requires time and effort and you don't get to kill people.
I don't know how to accomplish this. Giving newbies more WP or ISK for some achievements.
Maybe if someone achieves a 1 in Repair Tools - they get 10 'neo' advanced rep tools, so they know the difference in basic vs advanced gear. It's one thing to see the numbers, its another to use them, running a basic rep tool is a lot different than running a rep tool on a minmatar logi. the two extremes, The basic medium suits have two equipment slots and can run a rep tool.

Maybe add some daily missions
- to heal XXXX number of HP
- revive 5 different players
- destroy 20 pieces of equipment
- give ammo to 10 different players
- deploy an uplink in 3 different matches (someone besides you has to use it)
- cause XXXX number of damage with MD's or Plasma Cannons or explosives weapons or sidearms.
- hell kill people with 5 different weapons (breach vs burst vs basic AR do not count, they are all AR's)

I know this game is Capture and Hold the Flag while killing the other team. Support doesn't seem to get enough new blood.

I like it, would helpful when I want to slay instead of being a logi, as I mostly go solo most of the time and as a Min Logi I need something to rep, that doesn't die from stupidity.
