There's a huge difference between framerate lag and input lag. One of which has nothing to do with the Internet connection He's saying that the lag is caused by Tranquility having to sync what's happening in an EVE system node at the same time as a DUST match. This is a dependency of Orbital Strikes from EVE pilots. This is probably accurate, but it's also probably a result of bad cross node coding. This is the second time I agree with Saxonfag in my life (I feel disgusting right now) There's not any other real explanation for the lag/framerates. Out of all the PC's I've played maybe 5% have had Eve OB's and even then they've never played a role in deciding the outcome of the match. Get rid of them. @ Echo 1991 - Because he mentioned input lag you pleb...... GG @ Llamastar - My father rapes me every night. Should I get rid of him or try to fix him? (Imagine I'm CCP and have jack **** to help me "fix" him).
Pretty **** analogy m8. I think a better one is, "A father is trying his best but doesn't know how control his temper and errs on the side of control rather than effective parenting. Give him some coaching on better balance and emotional control, or give the kids to foster care?" Sorry but as a father, a person with 3 EVE accounts, and a developer, I take umbrage at your entire perspective.
If DUST is going to survive and thrive, the real time impacts and interactions with the New Eden political and social strata need to be enhanced, not eliminated. Getting rid of OBS is not a path towards success, it's a path towards making the game lose unique value proposition. Fixing the interaction framework to eliminate the lag is the right move. Other steps like making DUST activities more transparent and effective outside of Molden Heath ( Who the F goes to Molden Heath for ANYTHING on EVE!?... ), giving EVE FW players real time info on how DUST is affecting FW control, DUST Corps getting more involved in actual EVE politics, and CPM+CSM intercommunication are the right moves. Cutting the umbilical cord is a reactionary emotional response that ignores the long game in favor of immediate improvement.
Overall, I just disagree. Shrug. |
