Guys could snipe from so deep in their redline you would die to the timer trying to get to them in anything less than an afterburner dropship and even then you'd have to know EXACTLY where they were, and that meant making several passes through their redline letting them know you were looking for them or intimate knowledge of the most popular sniping spots.
They were so far away, they simply would not render when you were in the actual battlefield, making it borderline impossible to countersnipe them even if you knew where they were.
That was bullshit. A good thales sniper could pretty much sit still and farm kills without fear for 90% of battles. By the time someone spent an entire match trying to kill him, he got more thales from EOM salvage.
Compared to that, complaining about being able to kill nearly any redline sniper with a regular, market purchasable tactical or charge sniper rifle, sica, or a militia forge gun is just lol
In your defense, there are still some maps with some pretty bullshit sniper spots, like Manus Peak domination with the facility where the point is on a raised walkway with no cover from redline snipers Hated that so much...

But would you not agree it takes skill as a scout to stay alive and do all those things? A sniper can stay alive by hiding behind a artificial line. Yes, I would agree, but if there's a redline sniper someone should at least attempt to counter snipe... Oh wait I forgot, it's against the blueberry code to be useful in any way... So what your saying is everyone should just become good snipers? IMO that is not a viable option. Not all Blue berries are useless even when there not counter sniping. They may not have the skills to do so and they may be dropping up-links and ammo for you. ...Have you seen the blueberries today? o.O

Yep and they still drop ammo and up-links for how bad they are. mainly because they want to farm but it is still useful.

I'm not afraid to say I was one of those assholes... lol But thats just the way it is. A Sniper's tactic is "Be where the enemy can't get me. If they can get me I'm not doing my job correctly." |

Well the spot should not be static the battlefield should be dynamic. Redline makes sniping jobs static. That maybe somewhat fun for snipers but does not make it fun for the rest of us.

Me sitting still is actually good for you. Do you really want me moving from sniping spot to sniping spot so you can never find me at all? Once a sniper hits you if he doesn't move you know where he is and is range of sight. It's easy to move out of it or have several people target him. If he moves after each kill your screwed cause then he can hit you from almost anywhere.
EDIT: Not to mention a Sniper is meant to stay still long periods of time. One Shot, One Kill. If I have to sit there for half the match to get the right kills to help my team it's my job to do so. Just like if someone else is doing it to us I have the job to blow him away. |

And I was one of the assholes that got real good at flying a militia dropship and BPO heavy with HMG and flaylock/flux nades to mow you guys down and make sure the clone gets terminated
Nothing made me cackle more than killing off a Logi mk.0 with its stacked plates, complex damage mods, nice expensive assortment of triage hives/allotek hives, a cloak to try and hide from me, and the Thales rifle of course, terminating it with the flaylock, then seeing "(Thalesuser) has left the battle" |

lmfao I use that tactic myself. Except I've gotten good at using the Dropship as a heat seeking missile. XD A HMG user was escaping into the redline from my squad leader and here I come in my basic dropship. I jump out it hits him and goes boom and I walk out of the redline like a boss. lol |

I think red line sniping is a good tactic. Something like jumping 30 ft instantly is dumb. I can hide from a sniper by not sitting out in the open, I have a small chance to fight AOE that disappears instantaneously over my head.

jumping 10 meters in the air is fine because this is a futuristic game. Red line sniping is not a tactic its a exploit.
