But totally the same thing I'm still guessing a late 2017 early 2018 release, at least that's what I signed up for when I bought my DUR
I thought they indefinitely suspended the FPS portion because "reasons".
But hey, a 4 year wait on pseudo vaporware is only slightly different than a 4 year wait on the total vaporware that is dust2.0 because you get a shiny box to pretend fly in, you know, to psychologically justify spending over $100 usd for pre alpha stuff.
The parallels continue to draw themselves, one just has a thicker marker.

No, you can play FPS boarding combat right now in game. It's still kind of janky cuz alpha, but it's fun to kill people in station then float out into space and jack their ride :D

Jokes aside, I disagree, in my eyes FPS is the core of this game and it should be treated as an FPS above all else because without it we don't have a game.

Totally correct on the delusional dreamers part.

Cool, a debate why would you define this game as an MMO first, and a first person shooter second? I personally agree that in Dust's current state that it is primarily a FPS, with MMO elements.

Ummm guys, you're both wrong.
Its the "ground war" segment of the only know playable space opera. Its really just a story telling vehicle.
Look at the lore we randomly write, or the drama that arises from PC.
Playable, craftable space opera.

Like most MMOs it has a little background but everything after that is decided by THE PLAYERS. We make the history of this game, not some CCP dev who has nothing to do but type novels in his spare time. We make those novels.
FPS is the kind of gameplay we play in, we are an FPS also with RPG elements. I disagree with metalock because I believe that MMOs should not limit players. In other words there is no Lore reason to have metalocks. When we add something it should be based on lore as well as when we balance something.

Little background? Are you kidding me.
Have you tried to read the History of the Amarr Empire. There are four EVElopedia pages of it from the pre-history through to the current era. Information of the continents is explained including the arrangement of Amarr Island, Assimia, Ves-Udor, Cas-Udor, and Kathis in the eastern hemisphere.
That's one of four main factions..... four of however many total factions..... existing within 7000 actual systems many of which have their own histories both CCP created and player created.

Bro, I've read all the EVE lore. I know probably about half as much as you do, which is a lot considering what you know.
But the player history is much richer in knowledge than the background will ever be.

The social aspect. The people I've met playing Dust trump the game play anyday.

I thought we were in a thread talking about EvE: Phoenix. As in an idealistic movement promoting the port/rebuild/revival to get right what was done wrong in DUST514. With that assumption---checks forum thread topic, yeup---then I believe the spirit of the game is to be much larger than FPS. If they evolve the game (really, why would they bother making the effort, assuming they make the effort, if not to create what they intended to begin with?), then it will/should be far more than FPS.
Either way, MMO was the heart IMHO. It just became what it is (FPS) for those that just want to view it strictly as such.
