The Academy is where the new players are sent for a very limited time to learn the game with other new players.

Proof the NPE sucks. This game is too complicated to understand to be a free to play game. Folks expect less learning and more jumping in and playing. The snarky vet elitism a la EVE doesn't help either.
Short answer: the acadamy is where you exist until you buy into the gameplay, get addicted and lose the innocence of how bad this game really is.
Congratulations, now you can start complaining about protostomping opportunism.

No, when you invite someone to a squad and they're already in one it will say that " they're either in a squad or haven't graduated from Academy "
Academy are the first 2 battles one plays.

That rank means how much money you've spent on the game...
Also... it doesn't illuminate the rank... just the name... the rank only shows in the kill feed... or the your death card...

Also, another little tid bit...
Dust has the slowest turn sensitivity... It's best if you put it to 100 or at least slowly work your way up to 100...

Yeah man I run them all the time.... truth is ive been playing for about two months, and am looking for ways to put a fresh edge on my game. I used to be a merc for Chaos of War, under Raze Mogis. Im currently the CEO of 101st Airborne Resurrected, a startup pilot training corp, for exactly that purpose. I noticed how COW was in the Learning Alliance, and I was wondering how to join an alliance so I could recruit and aid in training. I am also looking for mercs to help run my corp and recruit, the whole shebang. If you/ you know anyone who would be interested in coming in, have them shoot me a mail and/or apply to the 101st Airborne Resurrected, our ticker is AB101. Thanks,

Only Eve Characters can join alliances... As in if you don't having a working Eve Subscription... then you'll have to trust an Eve Player as CEO and get them to do it...

I'll admit it. I'm level 11 because I've spent 700 bucks on this game because I love it with all its quirks and bugs and unfair matches.
This game rewards those who spends money on it yes, but it doesn't just leave the pure F2P players in the dust.
