I'm seeing a lot of blatant unadulterated scrubbery lately. Guys in any suit, using any weapons. The suit bonuses mean nothing. They just use whatever they want, in whatever suit they happen to be wearing.
I say a Rasetsu today with the State Rail Rifle swapped out for a Killswitch GEK-38 Assault Rifle. No bonuses of course, but that didn't stop him killing me. I must be a pushover. :)
Seriously, it's gotten ridiculous. I have no problem with people wearing whatever suit they have trained into or any weapon that works for them, but why use a GEK-38 on anything but a Gallente Assault?... |

Or maybe the bonuses are irrelevant? Are they that weak that noone cares? |

Yes, the rifle bonuses are irrelevant. The Amarr is the only one that holds any significance. You lost a fight, they were doing better than you lol. We could argue semantics all day long about optimization of bonuses but on assaults it doesnt really matter. The kick, clip size and RoT bonuses pale in comparison to the overheat bonus of the Amarr so at the end of the day...meh.

Bonuses that mean death if you are out of proper engagement area? Why should that assault limit himself to a rail rifle? Maybe he likes the fast regen on sheilds and loves cqc but isn't a fan of armour? Why not combine?
When you fit full racial gear you embody that factions strengthes. And its weaknesses.
I can do pretty well with a scrambler pistol. But I have level 5 gallente assaults and level 3 amarr assaults. But the scrambler rifle is a smoldering pile of nerfed garbage and the scrambler pistol doesn't benefit from the amarr bonus so chances are I'm putting a scrambler pistol on my gal assualt and a magsec SMG on my amarr assualt to compliment its laser rifle.
Point is when there are endless ways to customize to adapt. The bonuses just make it more enticing to fit racially.
If I'm amarr logi, then I have plenty of armour. Why sit in the back waiting for people to spawn on my links when I can grab an assault rifle and defend my links to avoid a redline?
If I'm a Mk.0 scout with nova knives attempting to shank people but someone pulls a gal logi and permascans my team should I let him farm me because I don't have enough damps to evade his scanners? No I'll simply switch to my gal scout and blow his head off with my breach scrambler pistol.
What if there's an extreme amount of action and I need more sheilds than armour but all the engagements are practilly in nova knife range? So why not grab a caldari assault and rack a shotgun?
Tldr you aren't a scrub, you are a autistic blueberry who purposly limits themselves by fitting full racial and condemning others for adapting to the battlefield.

I beg to differ, the Caldari Assault with an AR is *the* original assault loadout, back before the other racial assaults were implemented and when the AR was the only rifle in the game. It's not scrubbery, it's oldschool.
My beta-stuff is locked into an alt (that can't trade because I can't buy Aurum for it), but when I run that I generally equip a Skinweave Caldari Medium with a Toxin AR.
It's a different playstyle that has certain disadvantages (lack of bonuses) but works well in certain scenarios (in this case: good 1-v-1 capabilities in CQC, quick recovery between encounters, resistance bonus to RR, CRs, HMGs and explosives).
Personally I'm still chewing through the racial playstyles. 2 years after release and I haven't even touched the Minmatar suits. Currently working on my GalAss instincts. But I can see that beyond the 16 racial suits and their 'vanilla' playstyles there are a huge number of hybrid fittings that can be both useful and enjoyable. I wouldn't call having fun scrubbery. |

Cuz many reasons to do this?
This game doesn't exactly hit you over the head with racial uniformity
Sometimes the weapon just works and feels better than what's racially appropriate.
I personally like using Assault variants on Cal suits sometimes. Sometime just cause I like the look or feel of the weapon.
I would probably use the Tac AR all the time if it was more accurate

Using a anti shield weapon, if most of your opponents use armor suits is fail.
Same with anti armour weapons against mostly shielded opponents.
If the corresponding assault suits are not what your playstyle dictates, mix and match are what's needed.
Also on the commando suits, it's a good idea, to use a second weapon, that has the opposite damage profile than your first.
I have put an AScR on a minmando as first weapon and a MD or CR as second. You drop their shields and finish with your main (in this case).
Same on a Amando, Lazor for distance engagements, and if they come close, just use a CR to shred them to bits.
If you put the weapon that doesn't get the suit bonus in your main slot (the one you spawn with), you will get the warbarge bonus on it and have two balanced weapons for any situation. |

I think that's called tactics , I'm not going to play this game like COD and run right up to you without strafing to avoid counter fire , I'm not going to lay links on the ground level so the enemy can camp them and scouts can cloak until someone uses it to only get a SG to the back or easily destroyed , I'm not going to play this game like a one dimensioned twit when it has so many flavors and angles to use , I mean ... what's the case or use , I might as well play COD and be a mindless drone .
People that complain about rooftop campers are lazy , I solo and love to confront rooftops in a DS or ADS because they are a threat to my team and I do it alone with zero issues because I play this game to die to win , not to covet every suit and weapon that I use like it's the last and I don't have the corporate bank like most or personal for that reason , I play to win .

^This.
I'm usually rockin a toxin smg or a templar scp on just about every suit with a sidearm slot. And when I make random fits with my staff recruiter bpo and free stuff damage profile is all I'm looking at for my primary and secondary. So I guess I do it to. It's all about winning.

I wouldn't have a problem about roof top campers if most roof tops were accessible through the use of logically place and well thought out stair wells, industrial lifts, and ladders however in most cases they are not. These are supposed to be well designed industrial or communications sites.
I put it to you that with the endemic behavior caused as a result of these players being literally too scared to loose dropsuits they are causing gameplay to become one dimensional instead of fluid requiring constant high ground camping/Viper spawns from one side or the other or risk objective forge gun or rail rifle camps.
Such it does not make for good gameplay. It's embarrassing to see Dusters do that constantly, still lose, and then try to suggest it was a tactically sound idea.

Staircases and ladders would add intolerable frame rate drops.
It is far more important to have that 250m of mesh outside the redline.

I've heard this argument in chat many times. What most don't realize is a few good reasons to do this. One is simple, got the weapon but not the suit. $$$ spenders of course got both on all set ups but most don't. Another is some people do well in certain suits but not in others. I hear this cry cry cry stuff but if you got something that works for your personal style then why change it. Or if it's what you got then why not use it. |

Sure and in the meantime we tolerate areas only accessible to a specific role and dominated by people who are often too scared to lose dropsuits and would rather farm kills.

Haven't played this game in months but with how easy to use and efficient swarms are, it's almost impossible to clear the roof of even a single properly fit AV unless you either A.) suicide your ship into him so you can hop out and try to fight, god forbid you're 100% pilot or B.) do fly by's and try to drop allies onto them at full speed. Anything else and you're either going to die or be denied access to any relevant areas in the fight.
So at best you've got to waste a bunch of time and resources just to clear out one idiot who's barely even playing the game.
Also keep in mind that both of these tactics are all but useless if the uplink nest has too many people (3+ usually)
