What is everyone's opinion on hypothetical officer level modules? Would these be silly? Does anyone think they'd be cool to try out? I know stacking a bunch of officer codebreakers on my Minscout would, well... let's just say it's a good thing clones turn to dust when they die.
It's not really an important question, but, CPM or Devs, could officer modules be a possibility? I think it'd be nifty. I'd throw money at that.

No, I just mean it'd be something I'd like to see in the game and so I would be more willing to purchase AUR. I'd probably drop this game if you could straight out buy officer gear. You see enough of that **** as is.
But, hm, other good points have been brought up. Officer modules may actually turn out being too OP, even for the gear that is specifically intended to be OP...

Playerbase: 'Hey, we're still dealing with lots of officer gear in pubs but it's getting slowly better now. Can has officer mods to make the officer stuff we have that much harder to kill?'
*facepalm* My interest only lies in certain modules like codebreakers, cardiac regulators, and potentially myo-fibs because I like jumping over walls. I was curious if officer modules could be a possibility and so I asked. If there were some sort of limiting force on them, like, say, only one of each type, or maybe even only one officer module per suit, they could still be strong as officer is intended to be without breaking anything.

Officer remote explosives (ohhh gawwd yes!) Technically we already have an officer damage mod. The Krin's Damage Mod gives 4% damage boost to all weapon types and it has no stacking penalty. So a Caldari Assault can get a 20% damage boost with them, not counting the Warbarge damage bonus, weapon proficiency bonus, and also natural armor/shield weapon advantage bonus.
The Krin's is the reason I'm kind of disappointed with the Council's Repair Tool. The Krin's is officer and made to be OP. Council's is officer and made to be barely passing for occasional/new boot use, but unique with its three beams. And I can understand the worry about it being too powerful, but it's officer for crying out loud. Krin's is a BPO, too, and that didn't stop the Devs from letting it cover all weapon types and removing the stacking penalty just for it. Why can't the Council be powerful, too?

According to my test the krins does have stacking penalties. According to GM Archduke it's not supposed to. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2970448#post2970448 https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=2974052#post2974052
It's fine if you don't believe the person posting, so you or I could always submit a ticket of our own to find out for ourselves.
I could have sworn I saw a comment directly from Archduke himself about this, but apparently Dust's search function only allows you to search for exact phrases, rather than posts containing key words, so it's being stupidly hard to find.

Now imagine a rats assault with four of these and a pro rep.
Do it. You know you want to. Frankly, I only want to imagine an officer min-scout with four low slots, officer codebreakers, officer kincats, and officer myos. You can't catch me, I'm the gingerbread man.

And here we go. In all of its full-screen glory, confirmation from Archduke himself that the Krin's damage mod should not receive any sort of stacking penalty, either from itself or from other mods. So in short, stacking any amount of Krin's is literally better than stacking any equivalent number of damages mods for any particular weapon type.

If your tests are showing that Krin's is getting stacking penalties, report it as a bug because that's what it is.
