Please CCP say something. ANYTHING really. We all need this.
I see more and more posts about biomassing and leaving dust and I think people just need to hear that we have a future. At the least something for the short term.
Please CCP. ANYTHING.?.??? |

It has already been stated that 1.3 was coming in the close future, I wouldn't be surprised if it came within the next week or two. Definitely before new years.
But I agree, I want to hear long term future, I think we all do. |

I came back from a 1 year 3 month hiatus just for the kick of it and searching around on the forums I found that maybe I'll be the one guy who returns. |

I wonder what is taking so long on the announcement.

There is this... vibe... I am getting from CCP. They are distancing themselves from Dust. Rattati used to be our greatest ally and now he doesn't post anymore. Logibro was yanked from working on Dust to work on Eve; I wonder if Rattati has been retasked to do the same. Now we are in a true "maintenance mode" where CCP only looks at Dust when we can't login or queue up matches.

It is not excuse, you know how CCP is. I just do not se reasson to make six articels in one hour about how they dont want to talk. Thats is all.
They know we do not like it. And i bet they trying this way to find more info about how we feel about game.
ERGO
It is better to wait instead of raging out from something what we already know is here (poor PR of CCP).

That is whole story I am a pleb, i do not want be devils advocate ;) Ever heard the idiom "the squeaky wheel gets the grease"? A lot of larger gaming companies have this tendency to allow something bad to happen then just ignore the player outcry because they believe we are sheep with a 10 second short term memory. They count on us forgetting the complaints they have against them.
Prove them wrong. Show them that we do not forget. CCP cannot simply ignore the playerbase and wait for it all to blow over.

For a company who produces a game like EVE, where they are so hands on and involved both with the community and game elements it is pretty out of character for that same company to treat Dust differently. Kinda makes you feel like you're not worth it.
I think they expected a bigger hit but failed on the technical elements, producing a top quality FPS takes a little more finesse than a sandbox space ship game. Yes EVE has a million moving parts that are incredibly technical, but there are very few FPS games that rank consistently with Battlefield, Call Of Duty, Halo etc... And for CCP to think they could just whip up an FPS using EVE foundations was shortsighted.
Now we're left with this abandoned ship, the skeleton crew who will go down with their vessel.
I think their product of an FPS set in the New Eden universe will continue to exist, the question is when will they finally get it right? |

Pretty much. One of the reasons I have barely played in the past two or more months. At one point this year, there was decent communication between CCP and player base. Since late summer, that has taken a considerable nosedive. Only thing that you see has been sales, new skins, etc. Even that, however, has basically stopped. Anyone even notice the in game marketplace has gone to pretty much a generic version? No skin splashes, no increased drop rate, nothing. Just shows an AR, with the words "explore the marketplace". Lack of even that, should tell people something....

We talk about the lack of manpower behind Dust as if it was some natural phenomenon we have to deal with.
It was a calculated business move to put Dust on the back burner. And we can't even get them to talk to us about it.
As if they couldn't simply assign another employee to help moderate these forums and help us feel connected. They give the responsibility of keeping us informed to literally 1 or 2 employees.
It's kind of sad that Dust is a product from a company, who actively advertised and try to recruit people to try their product. We did, we had issues, and lots of changes have been made over time. Through that time, they lost customers. So much so to the point where they took employees off the project and can't afford to keep up with their own creation. Players or customers had no influence on the bad choices the company made.
And we should keep playing and paying? Really sucks if you've invested in Dust early on and you've watched your investment crash and burn.

There is only one glimmer of hope that I currently hang on to.
If the Dust team was scaled way down and Gunjack was made during the rest of CCP Shanghai devs free time then what exactly were they working on in their "on time".
In my mind I now expect total silence until Fanfest (in March for those who do not know the schedule). If I am wrong and the silence continues beyond Fanfest I will have lost any desire to carry on in New Eden in either Eve or Dust. Personally, I just can not justify supporting a company which treats their customers in this way.
I am currently only playing Madden 16 and Planetside 2 anyway. I recommend everyone else make the same jump to PS4 and tweet pictures of your new console to Hilmar. Vines of your PS3 getting smashed or going in the trash would be awesome as well. Upper level CCP needs to know that we are not going to continue to sit around on the PS3 waiting for them while being farmed and that if they want our business then it is time they play catch up.
If anyone actually wants Dust ported to PS4 they need to first port them self to PS4 permanently and hit CCP in the wallet where they will notice.
@Ripley - You are correct on them seeming to be distancing them self from the game. This has been the case for a very long time with the exception of Rattati, Frame, and Archduke. I feel like this more because they do not want Dust's past linked with their upcoming releases and is not really a reflection of their future plans.

Not to crush your hope, but CCP Shanghai's primary focus was the Eve Online China server (Serenity). At least, that was my understanding. When they aren't developing/maintaining Serenity they are working on Tranquility. When all of that is done they might have some time to work on DUST 514 or Gunjack... maybe... probably.

Most of the Vampire: the masquerade players I knew were only hopeful that the purchase kept the product alive until CCP found a buyer with real potential. |
