Do we work so hard to get better gear just to make more kills, earning us better gear to get even more kills?
It's become all about the K/D. That discourages team play- Nobody wants to take risks anymore because they'll lose their stupid suits. Why do objectives even matter?

It's not that fun when aur players just stomp you, and your own teammates don't help out because they're too busy hiding because they don't want to risk their stupid aur special suits.
Fun is having more game modes, quests, places to explore, fun co-op team play that matters..
Not just killing to get better gear, that you can then use to kill more and then get even better gear.. to kill more, etc..
Besides, all this grinding is negated by the sore winner who can't stand to grind and instead pays $1.99 for suits that stomp you, even though you've leveled up for 2 years to use the market suits you use.
The game isn't about team play- it's all about k/d.
AUR should be used to unlock more game modes, not overpowered gear. |

To me it was about building myself into a capable and competitive soldier or mercenary. From there I found that operating mainly in Devoid and The Bleak Lands with the Imperial Guard and 24th Imperial Crusade was what occupied my time.
Our goal was no less than combating the traditionally dominant Minmatar war effort in the region which we helped to overturn several times until earlier this year.
That was the point of becoming an immortal clone soldier then. Now I do it for different reasons.

Fun story bro. But how?
Let me guess- by defending 1 to 5 objectives with your aur/op gear, or slaughtering red teams, in turn getting even better gear to then defend 1 to 5 more objectives or slaughter a red team, in turn getting even better gear to...

But still, it sucks feeling like out of a team of 16 players, I'm only ever 1 of 4 that really tries to defend objectives.
"good" is a matter of perspective.
I don't think someone who just camps in the hills every battle and buildz their K/D without helping out their teammates or defending objectives is a "good" player. I think those players are exactly the reason Dust is os life support. |

If someone would rather get kills than SUPPORT THEIR TEAM, then play Ambush.
Ah, but that takes SKILL, and coward players who only want to sit there and hide while padding their K/D ratio wouldn't have any objectives to distract the enemies away from them. It's about being courteous and a team player. If you don't want to be a team player, don't play on a team. You only mess it up for the people who do try for the objective. You have Ambush mode to be selfish on. Leave team objective modes for team players. |

Yeah. I get it.
Initially the difficulty was that the mercenaries and soldiers loyal to the Amarr Empire were fragmented and disorganised due to the sudden changes thrust upon us in becoming immortal clones. Around this time I signed on to work for Praetoria Imperialis Excubatoris, a loyalist paramilitary that directly supported the 24th Imperial Crusade.
With the aid of corporate allies and other loyalists met on and off the field we were able to gather enough allied operatives to successfully maintain a concerted presence in the CEWMPA warzone around the clock. With other mercenary outfits and orbital strike support from Pratorian pilots and militia members we were able to smash aside Minmatar resistances and hammer them into submission across the warzone over a 72 hour period which internally PIE codified as the 'St Junip Crusade'.
Both in space and across the ground Imperial forced gained ground resulting in a final day of conquest which resulted in 87% control of the warzone and 7 systems consecutively laid siege to and captured.
By no means was PIE Inc solely responsible for this massive effort we were simply a large, vocal group of soldiers that formed a small but dedicated core of the militia waiting for the order to start the attack from the Admiralty. Hellstorm Inc, EoN Alliance, and the loyalists who were too many to name saw the Amarr become a resurgent force in the warzone and claim sovereignty over most of Metropolis and Heimatar.
After that Templar soldiers like myself desired a more tangible autonomy to pursue its own goals as well as the goals with allies in the warzone and thusly we formed PCLAS to act as interstellar marines for whatever purpose the Admiralty could possibly require. Beyond that I must acknowledge that besides PIE Ground Control there were other soldiers and deployment channels that were formed when PCLAS was effectively out of the warzone that became the beating heart of the militia itself.
If you like I can go into real depth about exactly what the experience from having nothing to controlling everything entailed including the forgotten names of the PIE Inc fire teams that we're engaging and regularly defeating much larger and purportedly more organised Minmatar loyalist corporations.

Sounds like your playing dust to much, try playing other games from time to time. Currently I'm play dark souls 2 when I'm not online gaming and my God it's challenging I do play other games, but none of them have the potential of Dust, or at least the potential it should have. I was honestly thinking that it would be the ground-based accoutrement to my EvE Online experience. However, I was sadly quite disappointed. I wish I could say that Dust has some meaning, as EvE Online does but there are too many people who are content to say "It's just a game" and excuse all the shortcomings.
I play Dust now mainly because I started playing. I don't want to waste all the effort I've put into it so far, and I don't want to let down my Corp which at least sees some potential in me. Taking a break won't change anything; either I will continue to play or just stop. If I decide to stop, I'll just go back to EvE Online, where I still maintain active accounts. EvE Online has warts as well, but not a bad as Dust, and the good bits truly are just so much better. No, if I take a break, I know I won't come back. So I continue regardless, in the hope it will somehow improve. |

AUR should be used to unlock more game modes, not overpowered gear. AUR doesn't get you special gear blueberry A BPO is standard gear with a fancy name. And most people get AUR suits and weapons for free anyway. No self respecting Merc will spend money on one suit. They will buy packs or boosters. And all of it can be used by you and bought from the marketplace with ISK.

Honestly I just like playing the game.
That said, I'm a bit too busy to get to play games much as I mostly spend my time at work. So it's very hard for me to get "tired" of the game because I simply can't log on except for once or so a week. Sometimes less.
I find the core principals of fitting a suit just how you want it, messing around with those, and then getting to field test them against others to be fun.
I like running STD fits even though I have the skill and ISK to run better. Mostly because it's nice to know that I can run about 100 suits for the equivalent of one session of play (2 -3 matches).
Quite simply, I find the game fun.
