It's more like masochism to me. I don't care about k/d, and I'm only still playing because I know that eventually it has to get better (I know the EvE Universe skilling system) but I am bothered that Dust might not be around much longer for me to get good enough to make a difference and actually start "enjoying" it.
So I play just to see if I can glean what little achievement I can out of it, using mostly blueprints, because the ridiculously one-sided matches I get as a solo would mean I just lose everything. |

Sounds like your playing dust to much, try playing other games from time to time. Currently I'm play dark souls 2 when I'm not online gaming and my God it's challenging I do play other games, but none of them have the potential of Dust, or at least the potential it should have. I was honestly thinking that it would be the ground-based accoutrement to my EvE Online experience. However, I was sadly quite disappointed. I wish I could say that Dust has some meaning, as EvE Online does but there are too many people who are content to say "It's just a game" and excuse all the shortcomings.
I play Dust now mainly because I started playing. I don't want to waste all the effort I've put into it so far, and I don't want to let down my Corp which at least sees some potential in me. Taking a break won't change anything; either I will continue to play or just stop. If I decide to stop, I'll just go back to EvE Online, where I still maintain active accounts. EvE Online has warts as well, but not a bad as Dust, and the good bits truly are just so much better. No, if I take a break, I know I won't come back. So I continue regardless, in the hope it will somehow improve. |
