im a new player and quickly losing interest be cause it seems to take forever to grind for better gear.
im getting killed easily with upper tier players and have resorted to sniping so i dont have a consistently bad kdr.
it sucks when you get the drop on someone and have to unload a whole clip before he turn around and hits you with 4-5 shots and your dead.
Now i understand the whole....."its F2P, you shouldnt complain" angle, but why would most people spend weeks or months of getting owned in matches that arent balanced?
Im trying to figure out if there is something "special" to this game thats worth all the grind that makes it different from all the other millions of FPS out there. i see what people call "depth" but it seems to be just loadout customization more than anything else. Is the idea to get good gear so you can go seal clubbing on the next gen of new players?
Seems to me this game isnt very noob friendly.
oh and id like some real feedback and not just some lame, "well just dont play" responses.
thanks

wow.
i honestly didnt expect such great responses. I was expecting "quit crying noob".
Anyway after hearing yall yall have given me new focus as far as taking other roles besides just COD style run and gun. I will look to support more with uplinks and repairs and may even try the scouting and continue sniping some when i want to actually get some kills. Although, i still believe that some kind of MM system would help attracting new players and give the veterens more than alot of seals to club.
question though, ive heard numerous times "it takes years........"...........
now seeing as im just starting this game and im sure years from now this game will be far outdated, is it worth the time spent to continue, Ive found when they put some games for F2P after awhile they tend to die off.
Is there any indication of this happening anytime soon?
Either way thanks for the quality advice and i will take that advice and apply it. The game is fun when im actually accomplishing something so im looking forward to trying the routes yall suggested.

i understand everyones points.
it does seem like an old school game as far as graphics, etc. but I do like the wide array of custom loadouts and map sizes. I'm a veteran Battlefield player, Counterstrike, Team fortress etc and it definitely has some depth these games do not.
Im not going to give up on it right now if there are loadouts i can use that are actually useful to get a win. So i will try to find some of yall in game and get some veteran advice.
My main problem is im a grown man with a job and kids that doesnt get to play 8 hours a day so my time is limited........with all due respect to those who do have that time. Im jealous sometimes of that haha
either way thanks again for all the help, even from the poetic Irishman :) |

well ive played alot more support now and im definitely getting more warpoints from using droplinks which is cool and im earning a whole lot more ISK but only a little more SP than before. basically im using my militia recon and camping around strategy points to cover them and keep the droplinks acive.....is this a proper strategy?

ok yall ive basically got 2 separate builds both using the same dropsuit.
suit = caldari commando
i got it after i read that it was a snipers best suit because of the rifle damage increase
other than sniping i use the suit as an assault with a drop uplink, 1 basic assault rifle and 1 breach assault rifle. for my slots im basically using all militia shield and armor to increase my survivability. i figured with 2 rifles that would limit my need to reload and the extra armor and shield to keep my weak self alive.
is this ok to start with or should i venture elsewhere? |
