I love you.
On to the OP topic. I hope that by more miitia vehicles, it means more LAVs or some such and not a militia tank and militia dropship. I would be very sadfaced to see a bunch of unskilled tanks rolling around. The achievement in earning one would be cheapened. |

I have a feeling that in the case that they do have Militia HAVs and Dropships, they will be weaker in a similar way to the new militia Heavy dropsuit. So anyone in a real tank is going to have a decent advantage. Anyone in a Marauder is just going to murder the Militia ones. |

Great patch. With hit detection fixed, I might have to throw out my dancing tux now . I also haven't used my Move controller since last X-mas, so that's a heck YEA for me! ...We're getting T2 stuff now? now that's made my day too. Ok... i thought i heard web grenades were coming. Last i checked EVE only used the term "flux" in a single module name, so I'm curious as to what the heck this Flux Grenade is. We get sh- err, dropsuit-spinning now!?!? Cue bittervet tears (of joy)! Market and Inventory is now integrated with EVE? Does that mean a secondary market, us getting to buy a Rifter as a DUST curio, and/or does it simply acknowledge we're on an EVE test serv?
I take it "MegaTerrain Blend" is some sort of rendering engine? From my perspective, it seemed like the game tried to load every LOD at once on entering match, causing initial lag. Not sure whether that's intended or a bug, but I would check the scripting for LOD, just incase.
EDIT : If we can spin our fitting suits/vehicles, I'd also like that spin-counter from EVE hangar. Ya know, just incase i get into a boredom rut. |

"Added militia vehicles and vehicle default fits" Am I the only one that kinda worried about this, though it does mean lots of weak tanks ready for our forge guns and swarm launchers to blow up. Its kinda open to abuse (Dont tell me that no one will find a quiet place in the battlefield and keep spawning in militia vehicles for a like-minded enemy team-mate to destroy again and again) |

Please give us "invite to game" and "join session in progress" options in the contacts list if not a premade game lobby. Once all the psn beta invites go out its going to be a nightmare getting into a game with a friend without some sort of system in place to play with your freinds.
Also on a previous reply I seriously hope they don't do militia tanks and dropships. This isn't a fear of them being a threat to the paid vehicles but rather a fear that every noob out there will drive around in tanks aimlessly not proving usefull in anyway to the game objectives as they can spawn as many as they want without fear of loss

I would think so, since the sharpshooter is just modifying the Move controller, right? You put the wand up top and the directional pad on the bottom and fight on, right? |

Militia vehicles are necessary to maintain some of the "you never know what is going to happen" factor (and probably to keep long time EvE Corporations/Alliances from completely cornering the market on Vehicles and freezing out newer groups?).
It means that a Tanker or Pilot will always have SOMETHING to drive/fly. Personally, this is a "Good Thing (tm)".
It also allows new players to try out equipment and skill paths/specialties so they can figure out what type of character they want to become.
What if they had minimum requirements for some of the "higher" ranked Militia gear though?
You still get the benefit of having BPO equipment you can use without worrying about cost, while at the same time you have to unlock some skills to get to it, so its not just handed to you?
Here's another thought though. Some people have been asking if there will be "No Proto Equipment" battles. What about the flip side? Will there be "No Militia Equipment" Battles? Sort of a "put up or shut up" type of situation. |

I'm pretty excited reading the notes honestly.
Heavy balancing and additionally acknowledgement of the turn speed balancing. Militia vehicles and mods, better graphics.
This cant come soon enough.
I do wonder about the bit concerning damage types on guns. Players have experienced shields melting under fire, and armor not so much. I know the base resists and damage types from Eve, but I'm not sure from the patch notes if damage and resists has been homogenized or damage types have been put in place. |

I think it means that when you buy an Aurum package from PSN (being the "item bundle", not a real item), you can choose which character gets it. |

Meanie.
You know you could tell us the weekend like June 29th and we would pretend that you are the required super mean and good at taunting when we have to fill out those performance evaluations for CCP Jian.
Anyway, Much looks improved but there is still much to go. I'm hopeful you guys managed to get rid of some of the nastyness that snuck into replication performance wise. (Frame rate) I take it the other line was about the soft freeze like issue around skirmish objectives in the final base. |

I like the 50AU kit for 65AU ala carte deal! But what would motivate me to hand it off to another character? And by character I'm presuming they mean anyone's character...

TheAmazing FlyingPig wrote:Kane Brackman wrote:TheAmazing FlyingPig wrote:Kane Brackman wrote: "Item Redemption GÇô Players can now assign item bundles bought on the PSN to the character of their choice" I'm not sure what this means could someone explain this to me I think it means that when you buy an Aurum package from PSN (being the "item bundle", not a real item), you can choose which character gets it. I don't think that's it as this precedes it "The Aurum Wallet is now at the account level, allowing you to share and spend your Aurum balance across all characters on the same account" Or am I being stupid ? Nah, I just read it and it went through one eyeball and out the other. Maybe they'll have preset Aurum fits for sale? Like... Buy this Assault Suit for 50 Aurum, or peice it together on the market for 65 Aurum.
It means that when you buy AUR, it goes to a master wallet that is shared with all characters in the same account. |

GÇó Increased small blaster turret damage GÇó Increased damage and splash for large railguns.
Those two are the ones that I do not think are necessary as the installations have been doing a great job of destroying things as they were. If they do become a nuisance then I will have to fit militia gear and repetitively use them to make people cry over them (hopefully inverting said nuisance).
P.S. They missed one serious issue, which is the bleed out state. Not only do the person in the bleed out state glitch in various ways, but the people trying to walk/run over them will get stuck on their bodies (it may be because the person has not bled out yet, but the jump is limited which makes this more serious ). |

"IMPROVEMENTS
Art and UI: GÇó Added rendered 3D characters and vehicles in the fitting screen"
nice
"GÇó Added Improved 3D icons to show and when, to make them more useful"
..not sure what
"Mechanics: GÇó Reduced hip-fire spread on LAR and SMG"
Oh good.. so now I can get killed by more of them
"GÇó Added movement slowdown to forge gun while charging and reduced its blast radius"
appreciated
"GÇó Added increased heat build-up rate and reduced damage for the HMG"
not sure the latter bit was necessary
"GÇó Refactored handheld weapon damage types to introduce better modifiers for shield/armor damage across all weapon categories (energy, explosive, hybrid, projectile)"
very cool
"GÇó Added a fourth fitting (Logistics GÇô Triage) to starter fits. GÇó Each specialty gets the skills necessary to use a specific standard dropsuit (Enforcer GÇô Assault, Arbiter GÇô Scout, Sentinel GÇô Heavy) "
..and Logistics fitting suit? Is there a Militia version now? Find out soon enough I suppose. Assuming Heavy gets appropriate skill and Heavy Militia BP
"GÇó Increased grenade throw speed "
nice
"GÇó Increased interaction radius on all installation turrets, and vehicles"
not sure required; it's already pretty good and kind of within practical range.
"GÇó Added new physics model for dropship"
saw the jetwash above and thought, "hey, bounce and wash; looks like it's moving around on a string, so why not. Much happier about this.
"GÇó Refactored the Gallente HAV and dropship skill to match the Caldari HAV and dropship"
Maybe should be other way around.
"GÇó VehicleGÇÖs large turret may block the camera if the user is using the small turret"
Also not sure if problem. Depends on whether the view is blocked by the object or the view is clipped with the object. The latter is a problem, the former is perfectly understandable.
..now about those stationary turrets clipping their structures when aimed high??

On tanks you had to be in a very specific part to board (intriguingly looked like doors on the Gunnlogi), and hacking the large turrets was sometimes an issue as the "death-star" hologram spinned with the AI turret. Other items weren't as big a deal though. |

Does this mean you're making the multiplier x5 like the Caldari types? Or that you're removing the additional pre-req skills for Gallente ships like Piloting and Gallente LAV V
I really hope its the latter, I like the fact that the Gallente Dropship and HAV require significantly more training over the Caldari types since they're far beefier. I like having to put forth extra effort to get access to a better vehicle. |

Speaking as someone who played the E3 build, let me just say the performance tweaks can't come soon enough. We got our beta key while the show was going on, and with everything post-E3 happening, I completely spaced on downloading and firing this bad boy up.
I honestly didn't know there was such a disparity between what you guys have been playing and what they showed us, but it's definitely taken some... adjustment. I'm hardly expecting any beta to be a smooth as something on a small (fairly local) network, but it's still welcome news.
To be perfectly honest, trying to dig even a little into the game during the show was next to impossible; this is a ridiculously deep game -- one that invites more experimentation (and, yes, plenty of grinding to facilitate that) than almost any console game, let alone a MMOFPS. I've already spent literally hours slooooooowly working my way through menus, trying to budget resources for what I'm going to try next.
In the game's current state (and likely a week or so after launch), I simply can't win firefights to save my life (ho ho, punny), so I'm hoping I'll be able to help out as a support role. I've always been a better medic than a grunt in any class-based game, and with the possible implications of being able to get a little enterprising in some of the economy stuff, I still feel like I might be able to really get the most out of this game despite being a terrible FPS player.
Now if only I can convince the powers that be that this game desperately needs a Reviewer's Guide... The looks on the faces of all the folks that end up reviewing the game at launch are going to be.... well, they'll probably look like my dear-in-the-headlights one earlier -- which is to say it'll be priceless. Plus, lord knows I could stand to get some work these days; I've been bone dry on any sort of contract work for over a month now, and E3 was wallet kryptonite. |

My forge weapon (or swarm launcher) will enjoy the tank hunting, but I will not personally enjoy seeing a rush of them. Either way though...

Honestly, I don't see what is so bad about that. Eve is a game based on a sandbox-style idea. As CCP introduces new things to Eve, players adapt. I like the fact that CCP is attempting to patch everything up, but the Goons are doing what they should be doing: Playing the game their own way.
But yes, to quote the others: They really are that bad.

You misunderstood me, I mean SP wise. You get +10 for a LAV kill (though warpoints roughly = SP). If a LAV cost 0 ISK then you wont mind losing it if the other guy if he is also spamming them for you to kill and farm the skill points. |

Shotgun is already in the game .... the Militia Shotgun is a BPO.
Akimbo = BROKEN = worse invention ever to be honest. All people do is spray and spray and regardless of the "loss of accuracy" its not enough to compensate for TWO guns.
Shotguns = nice... akimbo = bad.
Thats my opinion anyway.

M&K will take some work because different suits have different turning time. Mouse and keboard let you turn on a dime, it needs to be balanced, calm down |

There should be no noticeable difference about the market or inventory in Dust due to this change (except that it is hopefully a lot faster). The integration work is just to prepare ourselves for joining EVE players on TQ later in the year. i dont know how but their is odd sense of fear in your voice, the TQ EvE guys cant be that bad

All I wanna know is how many games in a row they have tested the new build to before a hard freeze. Go on devs be honest how many games have you played without a crash. Because at the mo I have a 75% chance of completing two consequtive games, and for safetys sake simply exit the game after each skirmish.
And next - go and log in and exit the game 100 times then come back and tell us how many times the game crashed on exit or even worse restarted the PS3.
Everything else is just trimming and irrelevant if you havent addressed these two issues. Cos you could have a few thousand very unhappy people come next weekend. |

That is kinda what I was thinking but why don't you just buy aurum and get the set up your self ? well only time will tell. EDIT: Didn't read your post fully, could be a clever move.
This will work the same as on Eve. If you redeem anything like plex or gifts it will be at the log in screen and allow you to decide which character gets it. |

If you look at the variants of the logistic gallente LAV it has a variant called Buloch (i think its called that, i can't remember but it sounded something like that) Caledari LAVs don't have a variant that isn't in the market (unless you count onikuma) so its probably just that LAV.
On a completely unrelated side note i got killed in a dropship by an LAV turret and it said i died by a weapon called: why don't people report weapons and projectiles. I also saw someone else died because of that in a different game. |

Is the beta going public with the patch? I'm hearing the beta will be made available on the PS store soon but CCP keeps referring to the patch as a "closed beta" update so I'm confused. |

Question - Whats the new salvage screen at the end of the match? where do you find it, use, ?
ok two questions...
Last patch I was drop ship pilot, I found that I being weird, play my controllers inverted, airplane style. When I set my controller for ground, inverted, then bought and jumped in a drop ship, the controls reverted back to standard, is this fixed? I don't want to spend all my points to find out it hasn't yet.....
thanks in advance

I must say overall its almost night and day. I can actually read the tags on people now (friend or foe) and the graphics look much better. Amazing how that helps the ole K/D ratio )That was even before I added the HD cable. hehe
I am having difficulty reading the attacker and defender boards in the command center before each match and a couple other things I have posted already.
Keep it up yall! I can see the work your putting into this. Thanks! |

Anyone else see the email about the Weekend reward for the weekend beta assault suit? Any ideas when we'll get that?
Quote: Saturday June 28th ushers in a weekend of plateau matches, with Skirmishes running Thursday to Friday and Assaults added into the mix from Saturday on. All beta players that log in this weekend will receive an exclusive Assault-class beta suit for their character. More weekend events and rewards to follow.

I think the militia vehicles have to do somewhat with needing E3 visitors to experience vehicle combat. Remember that this was the build shown at that convention. They're sure to at least remove the BPO attribute in next build, should make it easier.
However : I would like to bring CCP's attention to the fact that the Flux Grenade wasn't activated in the market. Since this was in the patch notes, I would really like a dev to explain what happened. |

I love how people reply to a forum post without reading previous posts in it, while stating someone may have asked this already. The DEV responded, it is being included but as others have stated, they are likely balancing the 'twitch'. Have patience, your guy is immortal. Learn to use the controller for now since we are all being set back to zero at launch, your scores dont mean squat. Instead iron out a progression plan :) |
