So av's biggest gripe is with not being easily balanced 1v1. This completely ignores that you can have many people in a vehicle, yet still be just as flimsy.
What if vehicle skills were not damage output based, but defense based. Not only that, but with each person in the vehicle it would stack (lets say you plug your dropsuit power supply into the vehicle to boost it's efficiency.)
This also has the added bonus of, when someone jumps out of their tank to shoot at you, their tank becomes weak as an unfit LAV... Meanwhile when calling in a vehicle, have the RDV boost the vehicles shields for a shot period (to avoid easy farming vehicles as they're called in.)
End result (hopefully) aver's stop whining about not being able to 1v1 a tank, because now they're all 1v3ing a tank instead. |

Personally I like the angle of more passengers= more power supply as (and I'm not a piolet so this may be false/uninformed) it seems most vehicles used are solo, or lav taxies, and I think that it would be cool to encourage multiple passengers and such(also in dropships and lavs passengers not on turrets should be able to participate some how) so I like if, however I also am of the opinion that 1v1 with a tank is a dumb complaint so...idk.
you ever get to that point where you know you should sleep, but ya just...dont? yeah...me too.

I got one shot by a railgun, MLT AT THAT. Nerf please.
Never mind a railgun is lucky to come out with more than 10 kills in a match this way.
Forget the fact that it isn't easy to land a direct shot, generally requiring multiple shots to land just the one killing blow (or give up)
Let's ignore the guy going 25 - 0 with a railgun or AR, cause a rail gun killed me ONCE the entire match.
I find it incredible that you would call the railgun OP due to one instance in which you were killed by it! I've been playing this game for a VERY long time and have been focused mainly on tanks in this time. Railguns at that.
I'm well aware of it's limitations and strengths. You sir are not. Do me a favor, got grab a MLT tank, slap a railgun on it, and get a kill with it. And in the process, please note the number of shots it took to get this kill. Targets that stand perfectly still don't count btw.
I don't know about the rest of you but if a tank does magically manage to kill me with a railgun, I get mad. I get mad because I of all people know better, therefore it must have been a lucky shot. And thus, that tank shall no longer exists for the entirety of the match.
Or, you know, I like, shrug it off and continue on cause I know that it's quite a rare occurrence.

Lucky shot or skilled player either way the kills don't come easy with it...

The hardener remark was in reply to nerfing the dr granted to 30%, not the time of activation. So...again maybe...I wouldn't be opposed to that change nearly as much as I was to the decreasing DMg resistance, I do think that the arguments I've heard for bringing the vehicle system closed to chromosome, or else make vehicles perform better based on how many passengers are inside would both be better ideas...or at least worth considering.

Oh yes, skilled or not you aren't getting me with that rail while I'm on foot. Unless I'm blindsided or surprised.
In any case, I won't have it. That tank will die, but I generally give them at least one more chance to make that same mistake again! |

Armor hardeners were at 25% at one time, and it wasn't enough to make them even halfway viable. The DR variable has been tweaked forever and really should be left alone and other variables adjusted. As DR isn't the only variable involved with hardeners but the only one ever touched.
Cooldown and uptimes have remained the same (minus the gunnie CD time) since the first complete overhaul of tanks. I mean imagine if armor hardeners lasted 30 seconds opposed to 45 seconds with max skills. I honestly don't think they would seem nearly as invincible and severely limit their time getting into and out of a hot zone. |

I've never felt that the hardener time was the issue, because it was decently long way back when, but it also had to deal with rep times, so it wouldn't be a big issue if they had a decent timer on them, as they would have to run anyways. And this is why I like that setup: It actually followed the mainline Gallente combat philosophy for once in Dust (rush in, melt it all, GTFO), and it allowed you to keep your speed up instead of just tank it via actual plates.
I will say that it would be nice to see active reps come back, instead of this pop and go (or in armor's case, just go) reps. That might fix more problems than tweaking numbers, which is from what we can tell so far, not working. |

Nerf hardener up time and resistance amount and add a skill that makes hardeners slightly better per level.
Make armour reps active on heavy modules if possible.
Lower tank speed and give slightly more HP proportional to speed lost
Give vehicle related skills actual bonuses, like more PG and Cpu and spawn reduction time on mCRUs.
Reduce fitting cost on Light HP related modules.
More ideas may follow, phone almost dead.

nerfing the speed is unnecessary, although actual acceleration would be neat to have.
Hardener resistance amount doesn't need adjusting, and tbh, the hardener skill would only be worth actually changing if it in the long run gave out more time (so essentially a buff), since we have to get it back via a cost. A better idea is a look at reps, which you pointed out.
Not sure on the skills, and I'm too tired to do proper mathz correctly.

That would be unnecessary, especially if the rep change is done as well.
As a side note, people should really not focus on hardeners so much. They are not the only module that mitigates damage. |
