You're just fitting your LAV wrong. It's not a tank, but they can take a hit from one if you do it right.
That's right, it's a car, not a tank. If you want to complain about something, complain about there being now MAV's, though the icon for them are always in the pre-match screens with the icon list.

The less vehicle presence in DUST, the better.
CCP can't balance vehicles, they can't make logical vehicle intraplay and they can't make compelling vehicle/infantry interplay. They have not proven themselves capable...
Here's hoping that CCP is smart enough to reimagine and redesign vehicles while they theoretically work on a port/spiritual successor, because as it stands, DUST (and its vehicles) are a lost cause.

With overdrives they moved quick enough that av nades magnetism didn't work either. |

Only the forge gun was a bit better than the rest, but shooting these things with a forge gun needed more luck than skill (a bit like shooting a dropship with a PLC now).

the real reason i alwaysed used a lav was because its my fun way of being mobile av...thats my hidden agenda i dont want them to be murdertaxis i want them to be viable transport machines so i can go back to hunting tanks ..while they are at it ide like tanks to come back as viable machines as well....ps i never hada hard time killing tanks in chromosome ...me and 3 guys from wsg could kill anyone...
i remember running with tanker buddies and being a forward scout av unit and giving intel and ambushing multiple tanks hitting their crit spots in cqc lai dai range with the ish assault forge drive circles around rail tanks hopping out dealing dps...i used to bge able to drive ina wide circle and have three nano haves laid for av nade swarm circles of death..i want that kinda depth back
