Truthfully, I might not have the greatest perspective on EVE though as I am more of a casual player. If you have a ton of time available to make a lot contacts and are able to get into a serious corp, EVE might possibly be fun.

The only thing that can possibly effect dust now are frigate sized guns (the smallest guns, you can have them in a day,) as only they have orbital ammo. The whole point of the game from the beginning was to be on console and have players on both platforms playing different games in the same universe and working together to their mutual benefit. That's the whole thing that got anyone paying attention to the game in the first place. Recall that the 2012 demonstration of orbital bombardment working across both platforms was the largest source of press interest in the game before it released. If you take that away what do you have left? You have yet another generic PC F2P FPS that will probably only attract EVE players who want to run it on their second monitor while mining at the same time, and everyone else will just move on as soon as the next F2P in the already massively oversaturated PC market comes out.
