When are you going to fix the lag?
I'm sure the Central American players love being invincible because they teleport on the screen, but the rest of the developed world would like a working game. Thank you.
Also, ping locks need to be put in place in this game already. No other FPS game has the audacity to allow to choose to play on servers across the world.
Oh, and if you think I'm being racist, I'll add the Asian players in to that as well. Funny how the top 30 players on the leaderboards play exclusively American Server, yet only are from the US...
inb4: get good. Because Dust is a skill based game, lololololololol (jajajajajajajaja)

Actually, no, there are more than 10 and no, we (at least I do) have horrible latency issues. As we get bounced around proxy servers before reaching Tranquility. Sure, it is playable, but it does play up with hit detection and getting shot behind cover.

Guys, a hint. It's o.k for you or your family to watch youtube. Battlefield works the same. There is no 'Super Internet' certain people have. The best Multiplayer games favour Lag, and you're playing one of them. American servers are where everyone wants to be. If you're in the States, try watching a youtube video while playing,... Personally , I don't do this 'cos it rubberbands vehicles, and I try hard to look cool while flying. |

Oh really?
DUST will be running on EVE Proxies. 6x IBM x240 - Intel E5-2667 v3 CPU @ 3.2GHz with 128GB (2133MHz) instead of the current 4 x IBM HS22 - Intel X5687 @ 3.60GHz with 24GB RAM (1333MHz).
Player Connectivity
We are not just replacing old hardware with new, but also looking at what more can be done to improve the player experiences with regards to connectivity. As part of that effort, we will be deploying a new Intelligent Routing Platform to optimize BGP routing. This system will automatically test both latency and packet loss to every single player upon connection to TQ, running tests simultaneously over each of our connected providers and peers back to the player's ISP (Internet Service Provider). It will also non-disruptively switch each connection to the best available path.
Why would you assume this would not affect Dust?
This will only have to do with the lag server side. Maybe saying "disappear" is strong but we'll have to wait and see.

Battle servers aren't a part of TQ they just connect to it to retrieve fit data, chats, marketplace and maybe some other stuff I can't remember right now. You're right it will have an affect on Dust but that's mainly going to be what I just listed not actual match performance. Which of course who knows, they may decide to turn TQ into a centralized battle server if they're drunk enough.
Most of what I see around here is just a bag of dicks in need of some kicks.
Dust really needs its high sec.

Depends what time you went on, there were full matches on Oceanic at one point and not just the squaters. It was because of the squaters that the server was shut down.

New hardware will not solve the problem. CCP is incapable of doing a good job at anything, and no hardware will allow equal matches when players from 6 continents are allowed in the same battle.
But who cares. Its already decided to be one of th worst games ever made, lol. CCP is the laughing stock of the game publishers world

Sure, it is playable, but it does play up with hit detection and getting shot behind cover. I'm in Australia, and have an awful time trying to find matches that work. Most of the time, if I have the server set on Automatic, I get crickets. So, quite reasonably, I think, I hunt around to find the best server. Most of the time it's the American server, but sometimes it's the European one. But even on the Asian one or when I can get a match on Automatic, I get terrible lag.
I think it effects weapons, too. The bolt pistol is supposed to have a ROF of about 120/s, but I'm flat out getting 60. I think that might be something to do with lag, it charges, fires, then clearly waits for something before charging again. It has many times cost me. Lag is bad, but lag that effects the mechanics of weapons is really bad, unacceptable, really, but what can I do? |

Just curious what kind of upload/download are you getting? NZ here, I got 1mb up and 15 down so my latency tends to be horrible and I have the same issues.
What I found is that between 11am-2pm my time (roughly 2200-0100 EVE time) is where I can find most matches for the American server and between 7pm-midnight (0600-Downtime) its better to be on automatic or Asia. I know that would be early morning and early afternoon for you (depending where in Aus you are) but those are the times where I find I get the most matches in both pubs and FW.
