Actually, no, there are more than 10 and no, we (at least I do) have horrible latency issues. As we get bounced around proxy servers before reaching Tranquility. Sure, it is playable, but it does play up with hit detection and getting shot behind cover.

Same, I play on American most the time, unless its in the middle the night for them, then I go back to Automatic.

I went there a few times because someone said it was a great place to train pilots, I let people fly my ads there... I don't recall seeing more than 6 people in a match.
Depends what time you went on, there were full matches on Oceanic at one point and not just the squaters. It was because of the squaters that the server was shut down.

I will admit, it was an easy way to pad your KD/R in an ambush. I didnt partake but I was a victim

Most of the time, if I have the server set on Automatic, I get crickets. So, quite reasonably, I think, I hunt around to find the best server. Most of the time it's the American server, but sometimes it's the European one. But even on the Asian one or when I can get a match on Automatic, I get terrible lag. I think it effects weapons, too. The bolt pistol is supposed to have a ROF of about 120/s, but I'm flat out getting 60. I think that might be something to do with lag, it charges, fires, then clearly waits for something before charging again. It has many times cost me. Lag is bad, but lag that effects the mechanics of weapons is really bad, unacceptable, really, but what can I do?
Just curious what kind of upload/download are you getting? NZ here, I got 1mb up and 15 down so my latency tends to be horrible and I have the same issues.
What I found is that between 11am-2pm my time (roughly 2200-0100 EVE time) is where I can find most matches for the American server and between 7pm-midnight (0600-Downtime) its better to be on automatic or Asia. I know that would be early morning and early afternoon for you (depending where in Aus you are) but those are the times where I find I get the most matches in both pubs and FW.
