I can't be the only person who thinks making myos into equipment is a bad idea. Go heavy and let me know how the 6 inch ledges treat you, keep in mind that they don't have equipment.
Something that I have seen before and want to bring up is charging a jump. You shouldn't be able to charge while sprinting or shooting, so if someone shoots you while sprinting, you need to charge a jump before evading damage vertically.
This lets people put the uplinks high up as they please, but not bunnyhop during combat. It also removes the garbage when you shoot somebody in the back for an easy kill to have them launch above your head and get away. Jumping is a great evasion tool, but it shouldn't be an end-all crutch to avoid certain death at an alarmingly successful rate.
I should note that a uncharged jump should be equal to an unmodified jump in the respective suit. So a medium suit uncharged equals medium now. Charges are based on myo level and quantity used, see example below.
Ex. If one complex is 1 second for max bonus, 2 complex is 2 seconds, though a half (1 second) charge is still equal to the 1 myo bonus. (Numbers used for analogy and not firm suggestions.)
Total jump height = jump bonus (total bonus * %charge) + unmodified jump height. |

Stefan Stahl wrote:Very good concept. I'm unsure about the exact numbers, but the principle is great. It maintains very tall jumps as a tool for map navigation but allows us to finetune its utility in combat.
Here's a simple rule to estimate the consequences of having to charge a jump: 400 DPS is a rough estimate for the damage a rifle does. For every quarter second you have to charge instead of jumping away immediately you take 100 hp more damage. Consider that every myo equipped is also a shield extender not equipped, so jumping suits tend to be light on the hp anyhow. Thanks for the input man. I wanted to keep the concept of high jumping on demand, but limit the advantages it gives in combat.
Ultimately, the lost ehp isn't countering the jumpy playstyle enough to make it balanced. A player can fit a few myos and fill lows with armor mods and still be pretty tanky with a good jump height.
As with the charge times vs TTK, I don't really have the time to figure out the numbers on what is reasonable and what isn't. Looking back, the best bet is to make the charge time even across the myo levels and let the jump bonus be the only real factor. The stacking charge penalty would still apply. |

This will stii stop bunny hooping(or at least cut the effectiveness of it) while still allowing the long horizontal jumps that they should still be useful for. I suggest a.ut-1second charge PER BOTTLE that is if you have three bottles equipped you will only get the height of one per tier of charge, with the higher tier bottles activating first.other than that, I have been suggesting this one for awhile now... The reason I disagree with sprint charging is that the idea cripples movement in combat situations. My biggest problem with myos, in their current state, is that players don't get punished for poor positioning and awareness. It promotes bad gameplay with a low risk high reward strategy. Even with a charge time, you can sprint to avoid damage then clear the next building and walk away.
Moving while charging was intended to stay (think NK's), sorry if I didn't point that out in the first post.
I understand people have suggested this for a while, but the dev's wont do theory (if they even read these threads, posting suggestions/complaints in GD seems to be the only way to get light on a topic). I wanted to put some meat on the bones using features that are already in the game. Such features as the charging style of NK's and leaving myos in the high module slot. |

GG John, you do realize Shinobi and the forum OP are my differing viewpoint alts. Creative topic bumping 101 You wish you had this name bro.
...anyway...
This got so far off topic I don't even care.
The only logical thing to do is remove jumping completely and #makeDustwheelchairaccessible |
