My alt has proto Amarr assault, proto LR + ScR (I barely use it as he's poor too)
But my fits are all the same, 2 basic damage mods (or 2 basic shield extenders), 3 plates and 2 reppers (enhanced)
ScR/AScR + Magsec
or
LR + Magsec
(The idea is to melt shields with laZors and then wreck armour with the mini railgun - when that stupid weapon switching bug doesn't stop you firing or change your weapons back)
I just wondered what the general consensus is in outfitting it. it feels like it should have lots of armour but that makes it slow.
My skills are mainly in the above weapons, adv armour reps and plates and that's about it. lv. 2+3 core skills (around 10mil overall SP I think so far) |

I'd run something like ...
HS: Cmp Light Damage (x2), Krin's Damage
LS: Cmp Ferro (x2), Cmp Plate, Cmp Rep, Cmp CardReg
PW: Pro ScR
SW: Pro SMG
GR: M8 Packed Locus
EQ: Compact Hive
If you want something a little faster, swap the Complex Plate for another Complex Ferro and the CardReg for a KinCat.

The amarr are supposed to be slow...
Just use like 4 plates and 1 rep or 3 plates to 2 reps. Its not like you can be creative with the most generic assault in the game.

Two complex ferro, 3 complex reps, two complex damage,enhanced shields,compact nano for more reps.viz lazor with any bolt pistol and for cqc go for the assault srambler and flaylock

At higher levels I try to pop on a Myo just so I can jump over tiny obstacles.
Generally I play the class as a bruiser so I use either:
3 plates, 2 reps | 1 dmg mod or shield (depending on fitting) and 1 Myo | Spawn Uplink
or
4 plates, 1 rep | 1 dmg mod, 1 Myo | Spawn Uplink
Generally I use this fitting to just bash in a door, and try to force a headway for my team. It's a bit quicker than a similarly fit Am Sent, and the Myo is enough to give you enough jump to make you feel like jumping.

After trying and trying i've come to the conclusion that LR is worst on amarr assault than other suit (except viktor's), i suggest SCR rifle.
Reason: you have a larger max damage window, but only one chance per clip, then you have to reload, while with other suit you reach max temperature faster and you have a second chance without reloading.
It's just personal opinion of course.
Regressed to blueberry level.

Damage isn't based on heat. It's based on continual fire. Your opinion is based on misunderstanding.

Damage is based on duration of the beam.
The heat is there to avoid the lightsaber of doom
It's hard to beat up hundreds of armor piercing bullets using only your face...

Here's my racial Amarr assault-
Ako
Assault scrambler
Assault scrambler pistol
Core locus
Nanohives
3 complex damage mods
2 complex plates
2 complex reactives
1 complex cardio regulators
This suit is just what the Amarr is- slow TANKS with slow rep but insane amount of armor, and high damage weapons at long range. What better fit????

Carthum Assault Scrambler Rifle
Carthum Assault Scrambler Pistol
Core Locus
Has almost 938eHP, with around 756 armor and 24 HP/s repair.
You have 774 DPS to shields. Get in close and wreck those cal assaults.

using anything but ferro & reactive makes your strafe so slow you may as well be standing still
