Posting in a topic regarding Officer weapon removal, I commented that I'd support a full reset instead of that.
IamDuncanIdaho agreed with me, so that makes 2 of us I am wondering how many more would?
So I am opening this post to source player opinions of full resets (ISK+SP+Assets) I would also like to hear from CCP/CPM regarding what could be done ^^ (Is it even allowed? do Aur purchases cause issue here? Booster usage? etc.)
I have 100mil SP+ 1000's of Officer weapons + $$$
So inb4 "I earned my shiznit, no way they are taking it"
Story time
I began this game, as clueless as any blueberry unfortunate enough to download Dust, my initial research was getting shot in the face repeatedly and along with some friends we gamed for the first few months oblivious to the forum community, CCP or anything else outside of a Pub/FW match.. DMG began as a group of casual gamers wanting to try an FPS, at this stage recruitment was pretty open, using the finest requirements in New Eden which I stand by today "Don't be a D1CK". There was no interest in community/competition as the game felt like a test demo.. our early goal was just to see what CCP could do with it, *sigh* the good ole' days when the team actually did something during server downtime most days, and players used to get excited before updates/changes..
It wasn't until an in-game event, months into playing that I ever checked the Forum
It wasn't until FF when promise of expansion died that I ever took interest in PC..
In my recent gaming, PC's are the only highlight of Dust.. In public matches..I mostly feel guilty lol as 80% of the players are so far behind they get REKT by a scrub like me.. can/should I claim "skill" here ?? I know most would.. who cares how you went 20/0 as long as you look good.. but I can't enjoy this gameplay at all.. and when I compare it to the old days.. derping about in my militia fits stubbornly going 4/20 as I kept trying to 1v1 that proto scrub (worth it) I have to say, it was more fun back then.. the enitre l33t mentality Dust has been infected with.. is not fun..
ffs, you're an immortal clone.. who cares if you went 20/0.. you realise you can respawn don't you ??
But players don't, they play each battle with risk averse tactics, trying to save dem dolla bills yo.. and with the sheer advantage I have as a bad player with too much ISK+SP.. I have to lol when gamers here act like they are the best.. when in reality.. they are just exploiting a bad system. So it comes down to this.. do we stay comfortable and keep our stuff...
OR, do we save CCP the hassle of cleaning up after a failed DEV team ?? = FULL RESET.
Never, in my time on Dust has there been a level playing field, another thing overdue fixing
Well that was a surprise.

2 defenders of the.. crappiest system imaginable leading to some of the worst results in gameplay balance..
I was thinking of one perk to sooth the butthurt. - Add Suit/Weapon SKINS for each L5 item you have skilled.
Boosters are a major issue.. as handing them back will allow vets to earn over 2mil SP in a week easily.. harsh as it may be.. I dont see an option on refunding these.. it would defeat the purpose of resetting at all. Apart from that.. I have spent over 500 euro and more time on Dust than any game I've played before..
I'd sacrifice all of it to be able to play a "gg"
Well that was a surprise.

Ripley Riley wrote:Full reset? **** no. **** off with that silliness. I want to keep my progression. Now, if/when we ever get a port, an ISK reset would be nice to have. This would flush the massive ISK wallets created by PC.
You know during the first SP events.. players were able to cap out in 1 PC battle.. and a lot of vet district holders would not be strangers to hugging a depot and farming WP, so they made SP out of it also, and if we are going to fix the mistakes of old Devs..
= Remove ALL the mistakes of old Devs.
Well that was a surprise.

KGB Sleep wrote:Helllllllllllll no. I like having multiple roles. The only way I'd do a reset is if Dust moved to a new platform.
Yeah.. why not leave this version as bad as possible.. just to put it off until Dust 2.0
Well that was a surprise.

I'll be back to check on this later.
A reset is possible when this is ported, and anything in the game is subject to change
Full reset solves a number of the games major issues in one quick move. Like anyone, I will miss what I had before it but it's an easy sacrifice if it improves the quality of the game for all players. I would like to hear what CCP think of this.
Well that was a surprise.

= Remove ALL the mistakes of old Devs. Too much collateral damage in that case. What about the players who have only been playing for a matter of weeks, still skilling into cores and their first dropsuit/weapon? They would be told, "Okay, all of that progress you made? It's gone. Start over." Our already poor NPE would be terrifically insulting. I don't think I'm exaggerating when I say what you are proposing would cause thousands of players who are 6 months or less old to quit Dust entirely. The small population of new players we have would be cut in half or more. So, yeah, this is a terrible idea.
LOL
Every stomper gets reduced to their level.. and you think they will all quit ??? hardly. It's much more likely a few more weeks of crappy stomps will have a worse effect....
I actually hunt and squad with newbies from time to time, very few will quit over levelling the playing field.
Well that was a surprise.

Boot Booter wrote:Idk if it would fix anything to be honest. 1) it'll probably make a lot of people quit. 2) the same try hard types will still stack boosters and with the currently weekly skill cap they'd be running proto in no time at all while casual players get left in the dust... Again.
The amount of potential SP you can earn in a week is at its highest ever. When we were noobs it took forever to grind out a proto suit, now it's a different story. Point being is newbs have every opportunity to get competitive levels of sp and as vets, earned sp means less and less. Now is the game fun enough for them to stick around that long, probably not. I think a better idea than resetting and seeing what happens is to fix current issues that drives people away. Such as...
NPE in terms of tutorials and education Matchmaking Bugs Roof camping / map design
Perhaps if we increase player retention we will have a better influx of new proto wearing scrubs to compete with.
Now that's a good reply, not just falling back on "QQ don't take my stuff"
That's why I mentioned in OP about AUR purchases and boosters.. it throws a spanner in the works.. and the SP cap + 3x boosters add another.. tryhards.. will try pretty hard to get back to tryharding
Still, there is no denying.. the biggest issue in-game is the SP/ISK difference between players.
Well that was a surprise.

OK, GOOD TO KNOW.
I agree.. not an ideal option.. but how long are we going to watch CCP mess up as they try to fix a mess that ... They could just wipe out completely ..
Since the initial mistakes.. it's an endless cycle of cleaning up .. where does it end ??
Well that was a surprise.

Meh, Dust is barely worth playing currently.. fear of killing it has passed.. The idea is extreme, luckily I am not a Dev, this is only trying to gather opinions
I like where Vrain and Boot are taking the discussion...how does Eve deal with having billionaires and scrubs share the same Universe.. or is it just as one-sided as the crap we get down here on the ground ??
So, go to the store.. restock your tampons.. no one is taking anything from you (yet) Sorting out how to balance the difference is the simplest way to avoid resetting.. how do we do that ?
Well that was a surprise.
