I work with new players practically every day and I'll tell you THEY WOULD STAY AFTER A RESET!!!
The reality is it has to come at some point. The game is a Beta test that went horribly wrong. It has proven the concept works, but the implementation was flawed. We all have mountains of ISK/SP, but its useless if the game dies. If there was ever the fairy tale of a port there would be a reset anyway. You can't release a game where new players are 3 years behind, so why fight it now? I understand personal feeling, but the NPE would jump all over this. Hell, most guys here a year or less would kill for it. So don't speak about what you obviously don't know. The new players want this BAD!!!
I understand you are too myopic and would rather the game die than loss YOUR stuff, but in reality a reset is one of the few ideas that may keep this game from hemorrhaging players. I like my "stuff" as well, but I like playing more. It is a game, and not real life. I would like to keep playing the game, but the 7v12 games are a sign of much worse days to come. The new player queue does not have that issue. It develops in our MU. So, if we expect people to all play on the same field then we need to even it in some way.

Also agree re BPO: 'This isn't EVE' doesn't make the decision for BPOs to have absolutely no cost any less senseless - it's another design decision that removes meaning from the game and its gameplay. Wrong way to go, imo - if we want to reflect New Eden without all the overhead(bpo, bpc, mineral & resource inputs, research and manufacturing costs, etc.) we could just say BPOs reduce the cost of a suit by 2/3. Easy. Still helps out helps out players, adds meaning to decisions and gameplay, reflects the values of New Eden, aligns the economy and expectations of the playerbase for eventual integration with EVE.
BPOs are not the issue....mountains of PC ISK are the issue. BPOs keep a lot of players playing as they can actually be semi competitive (never OP), but the PC ISK funds hordes of terrible players going 15/4 in pubs and losing a half million ISK per game. See it every day on here and so most of you. No one can afford to lose 5 million ISK a day for long without corp ISK. So, BPOs are not breaking the game. I am not the biggest fan of the BPO system either, but they ARE NOT the economy issue.
If you really want good games then stop tracking K/D. People stay in matches then. Even if they do just run those BPOs.

You don't see the NPE do you? They are 16v16 all game. We start a match in high MU and immediately 4 guys drop almost every game. Veterans and wealth (outside of Technical issues) are the only problems with the game. WE ARE KILLING THE GAME!!! We kill any new growth as soon as it starts in order to protect our position in a fantasy GAME. We leave the games. We proto/officer stomp. We have mountains of gear. We have bundles of ISK. We have SP out the ears.
It is obvious that the majority of players on here will not self police, so your only real option is the nuclear one. You can try meta limits, but all that will mean is nobody in the upper tiers. As they will choose to play down because it is cheaper and a chance to play lesser SP players. Look at PC now...90% of the matches scheduled never really happen. The entire upper tier of competition in this game is perpetually locked......
I would love to keep my SP and gear as well, but I would as the OP put it rather have some good games. |

Considering I was #53 on the boards last week and Attorney was not even listed. I would probably just stay quite. Then I won't reveal that you habitually squad with three guys and go proto tank on starter fits. You are sad kid. Grow some balls instead of that vagina you have for a mouth. Because the truth is your K/D is padded like a mattress. So, get legitimate or STFU because after I seen you there in multiple games last week you should not even mention K/D kid.

You realize those guys leave because they care about their K/D right?
You want more participation then give them a reason stay not a reason to leave battles. If they feel like it affects a number other people can see they will behave appropriately.
You make a list that is solved by both the suggestions made, but since you don't like how they affect you personally you discount them.....That is asinine kid.
The reality is there will be no reset unless there is a port or even tracking of stats that matter, but that does not make them any less the right answer. |

Unlike you, I have friends in real life and get to watch over their shoulders. Ironic that you would post about some players being better just before you get outed as a stat padding scrub yourself. Again I did not see your main on the leader boards (Attorney General), but I was there....I'll be there again this week. Maybe if you spend enough time with your three friends in those starter matches again you too can get there. At this point I am done arguing with you kid. Like I said, grow some balls and play real matches. Because you certainly were not last week. This "kid" realizes that there is a spectrum of options available which range in nature from highly effective to fantastically stupid. Hiding our eyes from symptoms with high hopes that doing so will resolve underlying issues ... with all due respect, I believe that one falls closer to latter category than the former. If there are smarter options available, why not consider them?
That's what we are all saying...consider all options.
The reality though is that both are really fast and simple (AKA very little development time needed) ways to fix the game. I am open to other options, but those two fix every issue except technical bugs. |

I might play a couple of matches in pubs, but always solo, so there is a zero percent chance that you saw me an academy match. If you don't have a phat K/D from taking your proto into the academy like a scrub, it will be so sad.
