About Me: 31 Mil SP, Character made February of 2014(1.7), Played Since November 2013, Amarr and Laser Weaponry User Only, Play Less than 10 hours a week(~7 hr actual playtime)
I primarily play Faction Warefare usually AFW but if that's not up then CFW. Faction Warefare has been my home ever since Fanfest 2014 when I quit for about 2-3 months then became part of PIE. I have had some of the best games come from FW, except for one in pubs. Faction Warefare has offered me competitive matches without having to be tied to a PC active Corp, I can go all out because Victory only matters, and get a decent payback if you lose and great payout if you when.
I've recently been checking out Pubs for a bit and have been reminded as to why I gave up on them so long ago... The matches are usually stomps, but I don't necessarily believe it has to do with matchmaking entirely but the players themselves. Proto Gear and Officers Gear runs rampant in your common match, although the teams may seem balanced it usually comes down to who pulls out first that decides the game. Pubs seems less to do with earning money or having a good match but more with padding your stats with high-end or "rare" gear.
Isk distribution has probably been the biggest set off for me, I could give my best and come in first yet make less than what I gave in for the victory. While in contrast, in FW I get reimbursed 40% of my loss, LP and salvage. After coming from a pub match I feel all my effort goes to a loss cause even if I win I still lose, I simply can't imagine how low SP players are earning. ISK isn't much of a problem for me, I gain/lose about 500k the days that I play with Proto, but the efforts isn't worth it in pubs.
Game modes... I'm not get into this because they need some major reworking. Skirmish should be the best of the 4 with Acquisition and Domination at a tie. Ambush should be free for all, Acquisition should get time rework along with redline/spawn mechanics... Not sure what to do with Dom though.
By no means I'm a good player nor experienced on how pubs should work. But I believe we should take into account everyone's backgrounds and thoughts on the basic gamemodes of DUST.

Well the good news is this probably the 4000th thread relating to stomps and balance issues this week, so know that you're not alone.
Bad news is that the players engaging in this behavior the moat, don't see themselves as a problem and that we just need to git gud. The funniest argument from veteran players is that new players haven't decided to skill towards proto or that we just don't use them.
If every player had access to proto, or it was as easy as vets make it sound to acheive, a lot more people would be geared up. And you'd have less stomp threads. |

Why I don't play FW/PC-
When I play 10-14 eve time, there's never any FW battles and I can't attack for PC because of school and someone can't attack me because no district.
Long story short, I am forced to play pubs by default. -_-

Meta or tier lock talk is just a waste of time. I would agree, but I believe there needs to be a rework on how abundant Officer Gear is and bringing incentive to still continue the fight even if the enemy does pull out high end gear. This I feel can be achieved through providing salvage(keep what you kill) and making destruction of high end gear make a bigger impact on the payout.

I honestly feel like the DEVs have a right to run Officer Gear whenever they want.
What sucks is I have never seen a DEV in a match and I really want to battle against them. Do they play on the American Server Region or do I have to jump onto the European or Asian Server Region to run into them? |

our a bounty system that will raise your payout by a significant amount. I'm sure everyone good or bad would be trying to slay everything in hopes of finding that jackpot.

Really like the idea of having both a random bounty and one that increases throughout the game based on the top players. Since we don't have like "kill streak stop" awards I think that would be a nice addition.

Anyways I'm not complaining about Proto(k maybe just a little) but rather the abundance of it and the lack of reasons to counter it by the players themselves. When someone pulls out Proto/Officer Gear there should be a greater incentive to kill the lads. Sadly we see time again people run to the hills and we end with a red line stomp. Officer Gear needs to start becoming rare again and there should be larger incentives to kill the guy wearing proto... Not running from him

I've truthfully only used my Proto Gallente Commando once ever and I loved it. I just don't feel a need to run it all the time. I don't know if my opponents are going to run militia or proto so I use basic or loyalty suits. |

It's not necessarily directed at you.
With boxes, salvage, the warbarge, etc there is no way people can't afford to step up their gear. With FW you can sell APEX and add to your riches.
With 140 mil SP, I have 13 or 14 proto suits with situational fits and some officer fits I don't have the fitting slots to have multiple tiers of suits. I'm not a super slayer and I play very, very reckless. I have run nothing but proto for months and I increase my wealth daily.
Plus the game is dying. I hate to be that guy, but we've heard nothing about future plans and players leave as they lose faith. There's no indication the game has a future. It makes no sense to me for people play ISK efficient. And if people are broke right now, they are some combination of stupid and/or lazy.
Seriously, port it.

I know you'll understand how much it pains me to say this, but at the moment this is the best argument for not dividing contracts by tier.

Dust has been dying since forever-ago.
In ancient times: 'Dust will die as soon as it stops making CCP money'. Then we find it wasn't actually making money in the first place.
Rogue Wedding: 'This will kill Dust, enjoy whats left.' And it almost did kill Dust, but the loyalty is strong with a lot of mercs.
Now: 'Dust is on life support, players are leaving'. But we still occasionally get higher daily login numbers than we did a year ago.
Something is killing new player retention.

There will be a core of players including myself that they'll have to drag away kicking and screaming if they decide to turn out the lights.
I've always defended Dust when people predict it's death due to this game or that. But there is an experiration date on this hardware. Because of this it makes no sense to stay silent about a port, unless you don't intend on porting and you don't want to hasten it's death.
Seriously, port it.
