No nerf for rail tech, just trying to figure out how to keep the rail in the hands of the cal while out of the hands of everyone else. Like the AR.

I mentioned in feedback that perhaps the base recoil needs increasing on ARR's and possibly a small amount on RR's that way folk will be less likely to pu tthem on other suits. Currently i think regular RR's are quite balanced but ARR is still more powerfull than the new boosted BAR due to their accuracy at a range further than the BAR, both with and without caldari assault bonus. AR's should be king of CQC but unfortunatly they're still being outgunned by the ARR in majority of engagements

Honestly, I feel like giving the AR 10 meters could solve a lot of this.

yeah could do. i was runnign my creo breach earlier and there was a starter fit. he was about 30m away and i was barely damaging the reddot. all 5 in AR skills and 3 x complex DMs on it. should have shredded him and it just wasn't. i know BAR is a short range but its a little ridiculous how much the damage drops off.
i think if the kick of ARR was just bumped a bit it'd ensure they weren't so accurate at the greater range. i've been hit hard with an ishukone ARR from like 80m-90m away and the AR's simply don't have that range

Thats the crux of the argument. A weapon which dictates range wins. I dont see a way to fix this without crippling the RR.
Head to head with any weapon (under ideal circumstances- no cover, situ awareness) the RR would down the opposition before they got into range.
It's hard to beat up hundreds of armor piercing bullets using only your face...

It depends on the map.
I use my Gal Assault with different ARs if people are getting after it in CQC. If it's campers galore why wouldn't I use a rail rifle?
It's just not that common for me to find lots of CQC in matches anymore.

They have needed a nerf for some time, not a buff like they just got.

Buff the kick on the rr and the arr by 20-30%. Give give rr and arr kick reduction bonus to all cal dropsuits. 10% reduction per level is good enough.

Let's keep it constructive. Discuss. why? ARR and RR are fine I have to disagree, they are more than fine. When all four races run the same rifle all the time, we need to look at why.
Because out ranging your enemy is always more efficient. You get first strike capability, less dependency on mobility, the ability to cover more ground and limit enemy movement. If you can dictate the range people must fight you at then you will win.
That's why the AR suffered, it had no range.
What you should be asking for is an equipment type that lowers weapon range or increases dispersion. Something to force players fighting at range to move in closer. It's too easy to force people to fight at range simply by sitting at the edge of an open area |
