CQC seems to be the danger zone because the player can't take cover long enough to benefit from the regen (as shields are interrupted from damage) and the longer ranges allow the player to dive into-and-out of cover intermittently to keep the suppression going. I only got to play a few seconds because I had to work but from what I've played with my Gallente Assault, I am now a much bigger threat to shields than I was before. Get ready scrubs! The new bonus is gonna make that possible again. It's a really good overwatch weapon as is and it's getting a dispersion buff on the calass. Oh and **** all that racial purity stuff you guys talk about. With how good the shield buff is you know people are gonna be running armour on the suit. That 400+/400+ hp Calass is effective now and its getting buffed. Galass w/AR buff is nice but it still loses at range vs Rails while Calass w/Rail got a CQC and general health buff. Lots of swarmers in unconventional swarm suits. Not many commandos out on the field. A couple Cal Assaults at best, but what I saw quite a bit of were shotgun scouts, and nova knifers. The matches weren't even terribly one sided until at the end once my team gained control of the point, people started leaving from the other side. it took us half the match to gain control. It's an interesting balance. This was the intent from the get-go. Caldari are supposed to be mid-long range badasses that collapse in CQC. Gallente should be terrified of charging across an open field vs. Caldari. But gallente in CQC should make caldari have nightmares. WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

As for predictions about FotM, dare I say I think things will be fairly balanced? Caldari will have amazing tanks if they can have range and cover to duck into, but die when somebody pops in on them or they get targeted by lasers. Amarr will destroy shield tanks but still get destroyed by explosive weapons such as the MD, especially if they have a good firing arc. Gallente will destroy things that get too close, with the exception of heavy suits with HMGs who are in HMG optimal range. They will still be destroyed when caught out at range. Minmatar will be able to move about like they are playing the game in fast forward mode on the moon, but will be dead anytime anybody can get a bead on them. If anything this patch, from what little I've been able to play so far has done good on making things balanced, and racially themed. "Mind Blown" - CCP Rattati
