That would be more than just a skin however, you would need different stats, and roles etc.

Just wait until this hotfix drops , you or anyone else will think three times before calling in a HAV .
It just wont make much sense .
I can't wait to see the tears and I hope all tankers do what the pilots have done and complain until CCP fixes it but the difference is they will have to fix what they broke .
The tank changes besides the improvements to the Cal HAV's will benefit who .?. definitely not the HAV operators .
You guys just got your role ruined .
Edit : The HAV hate is real .

One takes new assets (if we decide to go with new models), art, balancing, coding, skills, and roles.
The other just takes a single artist or two.
the SKIN system, now that it has been set up, is not developer intensive to add to. Most of the work is on an artist, likely one who would not be overly helpful on software engineering.
Stop thinking game development is some amorphous activity where any employee for a company can do any other role with equal skill and difficulty.

Just put them into the game with slight differences (stat wise) to what we already have.
Right now the balancing of cal v gal vehicles is like trying to fill 2 cups with an equal amount of water. If given the choice a person is gonna pick the cup with more water. Introducing 2 new cups later is just gonna **** with whats been balanced.
With 4 factions to balance a different approach can be used. Instead of making them all equal CCP can use a "this kills that" aka the rock-paper-scissors method.
A> B> C> D> A
This way instead of just taking the cup with the most water players get to choose flavors.
Because lets be honest. They're so good at getting stuff balanced.

Roles especially, as from how I see it, currently, they don't really exist for any of the vehicles. |

In a way it is, because adding more hulls without having the bare basics for the ones we have now will only complicate things, but in a way, you're right, because it might make balance harder if we add them later. But then again, it might not, as we could just adjust the new hulls for what the meta is for Caldari and Gallente vehicles, but using the flavor of Miminatar and Amarr. |

The rock paper scissors method has been thrown out already. Nothing is supposed to be just straight better than the other, unless they have the advantage. |

I imagined Amarr LAVs more like those oil funded gold plated Bentleys rolling around in certain deserts.

Won't work. Lets say C decides to go against A and C wins as A can not counter it. D becomes the only thing to take out C. Yes A can counter D, but it cant counter C. B can only counter A, it tries to counter D but fails.
A and B demand to be buffed to counter C and D (respectively). C and D ask for their counters to be nerfed as they can't win every time. And thus we have the nerf buff cycle. And the scissors rock falls apart.

The hotfix was mediocre till I got to the tank test phase. We dominated in every hull I tried. Even had a commando melee my gunni to no avail.
Last night though... I hit a prodrugar in the weak spot with an Aldins' and OHK from full shields and armor....
Is that supposed to happen?
