I got a break in class and regretably clicked on Dust Fiends latest YT vid..
Watching those clips is painful considering I have played the entire time here, and about 1/10 of the clips are actually in game, most of it is dreams, and for a gamer attached to CCP games... dreams hurt they crumble into .. Dust.
What really hit me watching that is, my love affair with Dust514 began watching these videos and drooling at the potential this game had, seeing what we have made from that potential is a kick in the nuts that only CCP could deliver.. The fact that I love this game for features that never saw the light of day in-game is madness, to try and understand it, is to try and understand CCP and that is something, I'm not sure I'll ever want to do.. they scare me..
How can they promise so much, so many years ago.. to entice gamers with their vision, so many poor souls have been through Dust514 and they shared the dreams that CCP once had.. where did that love of the game go ??
For a company willing to completely false advertise the content of this game.. now we dont even get the occasional "what if?" from the Devs.. they don't want to make any false promises they cannot deliver on, understandable.. but for one fact...
Dust514 is a false promise CCP have never really delivered on.
Multi-Platform, may be dead in the water.. the mind boggling goal to connect to games+platforms in the same Universe lured many if not all of us to take part in some of the most unique gaming experiences on console, is now just a memory of what we were promised, like dating a hot chick for a while to realise it's actually a guy.. WE DID NOT SIGN UP FOR THIS.
The current, almost 3 years since release "Dust514" is a disgrace to what CCP initially offered...
How long will gamers here be left in the dark over the future of this game?? while I have faith in CCP to continue a form of Dust514.. I have lost all faith in Dust514 ever being what we were promised and more importantly Dust514 being what we wanted.. Gamers still log in in the thousands everyday in hope of CCP realising their goal. We do our part.
The ball is in your court CCP, make your move. Fearing a backlash from players when we are still here based on false promises, is no excuse. Your are the masters of this Universe, it is long past time you began acting like it.

Good
My latest speech is in the hopes that there is still a soul at CCP who gives a damn. We will see

CCP tried to develop an extremely ambitious concept. It failed.
They managed to salvage an enjoyable game out of it post release, and now continue support in a limited way.
CCP still have the dream of Dust, and they still have many useful assets. I'm sure they are experimenting with ways to give it another go. I hope they find a new way to bring the dream of Dust alive, and that the experience they've gained making the game we have now will help them achieve their goals this time. |

It's a vicious circle, we don't care, CCP don't care.. even manboar thunderfist just does not care
I've made the most of gaming here, burned thousands of clones while waiting for progress.. sadly I have been cloned so many times, that the new clones just cannot forget the hardships our brethren have suffered, but in the end...
Who cares ?

After about five years of talking ambulation and then Incarna, you could see where CCP was headed with anything other than spacey shippy shooty shoot.
CCP logic GÇô We fix what doesn't need breaking.

I just don't think CCP want to announce anything without being pretty sure they can deliver it this time. And they don't want to plough funding into development of a concept unless they are sure they can make a good game out of it.
At least, I hope that's what's going on. |
